Due to continued growth we are seeking a capable ACA or AAT qualified Accounts Senior for a Top 20 firm of Chartered Accountants based in the Thames Valley. You will work with Client Managers and Directors to deliver accounting and technical support with a focus on VAT and management accounts to a range of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
Working arrangements:
This role is full time although part time hours may be considered.
The working week: Normal hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, to be worked from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Location: Principal work base is the Newbury office.
Currently the business operates a hybrid remote/office policy, however new joiners are required to spend more time in the office whilst getting to know the business and systems.
The role includes:
Preparation of year end accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
Draft corporation and income tax computations
Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
Mentor and support the development of Trainees where required in a clear and concise manner, identify and solve knowledge gaps
Keep up to date on any changes in legislation
Experience/Skills
Professional Experience:
Essential: AAT or qualified by experience
Essential: Previous experience working in a practice environment
Essential: A minimum of three years relevant practice accounting experience
Desirable: ACA, ACCA qualified
Desirable: Background working in a corporate environment.
System Experience:
Essential: Microsoft Office, Accounting Software Packages
Desirable: Digita Suite, SAGE, QuickBooks, Xero, Virtual Cabinet
Other Skills and attributes:
Attention to detail

Strong communication skills
Ability to demonstrate technical processes to suit a wide ranging audience including management, peers, trainees and clients
Confidence to build rapport manage a professional relationship with clients
Excel and accounting software knowledge
Organised with a proven ability to meet deadlines
