Job Title: Associate Design Engineer
Salary: £31,848 – £34,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location: Stafford, Staffordshire, UK

The Opportunity
As Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) Perkins, we design, develop and manufacture the 4000 Series and 5000 Series diesel and gas engines. These world class products are used to support customers in critical, continuous and standby power generation applications.
You will be working as part of a global engineering team supporting the creation of sustainable solutions that deliver high performance and reliable power around the globe.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Creation and updating of 3D CAD models and 2D CAD drawings to Enterprise Standards
Support concept design and development of engine systems and components to meet Product and Technical Objectives
Support Design for ‘X’ requirements through proactive collaboration with various teams and stakeholders
Support risk mitigation of new design through APQP process
Management of Engine Arrangement models and drawings in PLM system
Support Engine Specifications and BOM management
Support problem solving analyses and resolutions through RCCA
Support production facilities
Execute assigned tasks and deliverables to meet project timeline requirements
Support internal departmental processes
Skills and Experience:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Relevant industry experience with demonstrated strong technical knowledge and capability
Strong 3D and 2D CAD software capability
Good GD&T knowledge with tolerance analysis capability
Strong interpersonal and communication skills through verbal and visual tools
Strong organisational skills to track and manage multiple tasks
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Mechanical Engineering program or Substantial role related experience
Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Master’s degree in an accredited Mechanical Engineering program or equivalent
Off highway engine design experience
Strong manufacturing process knowledge
Strong engineering materials knowledge
CAE experience and knowledge
