suitable candidates will be interviewed as and when they apply and the role will be closed as soon as a suitable candidate has been sourced.JOB DESCRIPTIONCLUB RESPONSIBILITIES· Ensure Club compliance with statutory obligations under relevant legislation and the adherence to the rules and regulations surrounding Safeguarding as laid down by the relevant governing body under which the Club is bound – i.e. the Football League or the Premier League, Women’s Super League and BCC.· To monitor and identify each of the activities across the Football Club which require Safeguarding best practice principles, and work with those personnel to increase their awareness and education whilst helping to ensure the Club’s safeguarding processes apply across its working practices.· Work closely with and report on a regular basis to the Club’s Senior Management Lead for safeguarding and provide advice on any progress, issues that may arise or project work as so required.· Work closely with HR and Heads of Department to develop and implement safer recruitment and induction practices across the organisation.· Continuously work to maintain, embed and improve the Club’s safeguarding provision across the Club ensuring the highest standards for safeguarding vulnerable groups, policies practices and good practice guidelines.· Manage the development, implementation, promotion and review of the Safeguarding vulnerable groups policies, practices and good practice guidelines and regularly review the policies in place, amending and updating where necessary in line with changing legislation or regulations, and creating new policy where so required or identified.· Communicating any such changes to policy or process accordingly and working with colleagues to understand the policy and processes required as so implemented· Named lead member of staff to manage safeguarding incidents, concerns and allegations.· Named lead member of staff to work in partnership with statutory and football authorities sharing information where appropriate to safeguard vulnerable groups.· Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date records on all safeguarding incidents, concerns or allegations.· Give direction and guidance to staff in respect of all safeguarding incidents, concerns or allegations.· Support staff to respond appropriately to concerns about the welfare or safety of vulnerable groups.· Manage the implementation of the Club’s strategy and action and implementation plan for safeguarding.· Lead and provide direction to Safeguarding Officers.· Ensure that Safeguarding Officers are trained, supported and supervised.· Act as the Club’s lead source of safeguarding support, advice and expertise.· Development and implementation of safeguarding education specific to individual roles and responsibilities to ensure that staff develop and maintain the necessary skills and knowledge to safeguard vulnerable groups, and arranging complimentary training including but not limited to any mandatory training as so necessary from external bodies and the delivery of internal bespoke training surrounding general awareness and processes as relevant to the roles in which are carried out on behalf of the Football Club.· Ensure staff understand their individual responsibilities to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable groups.· Deliver workshops to all staff, players and parents where applicable.· Manage all Host Family arrangements for the Academy including recruitment of new host families and the Women’s Team, vetting of new applicants, undertaking of regular visits/inspections of arrangements, and organising/delivering training as appropriate.· Work closely with staff to ensure host families are all assessed in line with statutory regulations and following best practices in their delivery of the service.· Commit one day per week to supporting the Women’s and Girl’s pathway.· Will be the Mental & Emotional Wellbeing Lead for the Club.ACADEMY DSO RESPONSIBILITIES· Be a visible, accessible and approachable presence within the Academy environment for all stakeholders.· Actively promote and implement safeguarding policy within the Academy environment.· Support the AMT in the production of the APP and in meeting EPPP requirements.· Deliver staff CPD workshops on a 10-week cycle to update around current trends, changes in legislation and offer refreshers in key processes.· Induction training/workshops for all new starters around Club safeguarding policy, referral process, staff responsibilities, and how to identify the signs of abuse and neglect.· Facilitate parent workshops to update around policy and address any concerns.ACADEMY PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES· Ensure the effectiveness and alignment of the Player Care Department within the Academy structure.· Develop and implement the mental and emotional wellbeing strategy and action plan, working with internal staff and external partners.· Provide one-to-one support for players as required, developing and utilising internal and external support referral pathways.· Work with multi-disciplinary staff and external partners to deliver effective parent education workshops· Lead and coordinate Academy Player Inductions; maintaining records in line with EFL Youth Development Rules.· Liaise with the English Football League and League Football Education on all matters related to Academy Safeguarding and Welfare, ensuring compliance with EFL Youth Development Rules.· Deliver relevant Safeguarding training to all Academy Staff, in conjunction with the Club’s Head of Safeguarding.· Liaise with the EFL Safeguarding team and other statutory agencies where appropriate.· Provide support and guidance to all Academy, Staff, Parents and Children in the area of Safeguarding.· Liaise with the Club’s Head of Safeguarding on all safeguarding issues relevant to the Academy.· Formally review all Academy safeguarding, transport, accommodation and player care policies and documentation to ensure effectiveness and compliance with legal requirements.· Act as the lead liaison for Host Families and be responsible for organising appropriate training for all host families.· Attend all relevant meetings and conferences.· Liaise with other Academy staff members to ensure each player’s individual development plans meets the needs of the Player Care Programme.· Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the Academy Performance Plan.· Work within the Education and Player Care team to deliver a holistic and bespoke programme to each Academy player.· Contribute to the departmental structure to ensure continuity and consistency for all Academy players.· To ensure a cohesive structure and link between all key stakeholders withinin the Academy programme, through excellent communication, organisation and management skills.PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONSQualificationsEssential Requirements· Safeguarding Adults Level 3 (DSL)· Previous
