Working in a dual role as an MSK Physiotherapist and a Disability Assessor is a unique opportunity as you will develop your expertise working across two different service areas.

About the role
You will split your time between treating MSK physiotherapy patients in clinic and holding consultations over the phone with people who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
To do the Disability Assessor role you do not need to have any previous experience or qualification. Your background and training as a physiotherapist means that you qualify, and we will provide you with the comprehensive and accredited training needed to thrive in the role.

Key responsibilities
Manage your own clinical caseload of patients presenting with a variety of conditions and goals.
Use high quality neuromusculoskeletal assessment skills to develop evidence-informed and highly effective treatment and management plans.
Use our patient workflow system in clinic to manage appointments and records, and our digital health tools and app to prescribe patients with management programmes.
Speaking with people making a claim for the PIP benefit and working to assess a variety of complex conditions and impairments.
Using your strong verbal communication skills and write high quality, fair and accurate assessment reports using a special IT system.
Working with your line manager to advance your own professional development and career as a Disability Assessor.
Maintain high standards of professional conduct and abide by core standards of practice outlined by the HCPC and CSP.
Essential experience and qualifications
Minimum of 12 months experience working as a qualified Physiotherapist.
BSc (hons) Physiotherapy degree of 2:2 or above.
Full Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) membership.
Full Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) membership.
Evidence of conducting initial assessments, providing diagnosis, and prescribing management plans.
Track record of working and communicating effectively with patients.
Evidence of strong English language skills (verbal, reading and writing).
