Description : Summary
The Strategic Asset and Facilities Management Service is responsible for the council’s property estate. This includes all aspects of property management including acquisition and sale of land and buildings, capital works, maintenance, compliance and facilities management.
LIVE WORK PROTECT
The Facilities and Asset Management Support Officers provide support to the service by delivering a range of work across every part of the service. This includes being the first point of contact for dealing with incoming requests and covers all aspects of SA&FM work including building maintenance, soft FM (cleaning, security) and energy management. Officers will contribute towards the development of business cases, gathering information, undertaking basic data manipulation, record keeping or operational tasks so that the asset portfolio can be managed to deliver each of the mission statement objectives the service must achieve.
About the role
You will provide administrative support to the various teams within SA&FM. You will use existing systems and process to raise works orders ensuring that these are coded to the correct budgets and cost centres. Tasks will also include management of invoices to tenants where property is leased out or invoices to customers of our traded maintenance and repairs service. The post holder will also be required to support day to day activity such as data entry, data quality improvements and contributing to system improvements.
Support Officers will be expected to aim to manage their own time and prioritise their work to meet service objectives, supported closely by managers. Support Officers are also expected to start to take some ownership of work, considering where extra value could be added and suggesting solutions or solving problems where possible supported by managers.
About you
With experience in a similar operational support, clerical or building related discipline, you should also be educated to A-level standard, or be able to demonstrate significant workplace experience and skills.
Whilst working as part of a team, you should also be able to work independently and on your own initiative.
