Description : TIS is a 24×7 Operational shop responsible for Technology Infrastructure and Platforms that form the foundation of technology at Novartis. A great fit would be a balanced mix of Hands on Technical capabilities with a solid background in operations, delivery and solutions integration area Looking for some one who is extremely technical and can operate at a VP level management in the org.
Your Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Head of Solution Reliability & Engineering is responsible for the infrastructure and platform solution engineering – translating technology needs to underlying component design with a focus on reliability, security, and performance.
Accountable for review and transformation of technology solutions and design patterns in partnership with enterprise architecture, app and tech architects to enable higher reliability and repeatable delivery at speed.An important aspect of this role is leading the troubleshooting and driving the resolution of complex multi-technology infrastructure and service disruptions. By working holistically across technology areas, the candidate will ensure swift solutions to technology issues and continually improve the footprint, using an insight-led, software driven and iterative approach.Responsible for leading and managing deliver across high priority initiatives, collaborate with PPD leaders to ensure services are being delivered per agreed expectations and proactively drive continuous service improvements.Recruit, coach and nurture a team that is consistently over performing and delivering on business and technology objectives. Drive change management and culture change by adhering to and evangelizing Novartis values and behaviors.
Accountable for providing day-to-day leadership and management of the solution reliability, Integration & enablement organization. Build a DevOps & SRE culture and enable the transition to modern infrastructure management and delivery practices.Champion Chaos Engineering and SRE approaches across strategic systems to predict and prevent disruptive events and improve the availability of solutions.Lead and troubleshoot high priority incidents impacting the organization and provide support to quickly resolve critical incidents. Act as the primary interface to the PPD functions and enable effective delivery and integration of activities for products and platforms across the enterprise.
Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives while integrating self-healing and resiliency patternsProvide strategic business and technology consulting support and guidance through key initiatives ensure appropriate reliability, security and observability processes and architectures are built into all new solutionsManage a roadmap to focus on optimization of existing solutions to ensure non-functional requirements perform to agreed standards while under edge conditions.Design and enable automated change, release and upgrade management practices across existing solutions and systems.Proactively share knowledge of technology risks with business partners while partnering with PPD teams to ensure continuous improvement of IT servicesAlign solutions with security and compliance expectations in partnership with the ISRM function. Ensure compliance to defined IT Governance controls, standards, and practices.

Minimum requirements
More than 15 years of relevant working experience with technical hands-on experience having built and supported distributed production systems, preferably in a regulated environment.Bachelors or Masters degree in EngineeringExpertise in distributed systems architectures, hybrid cloud/on-premise environments, and event-driven or event stream systems.A solid grasp of modern software development and the ability to contribute to and mentor others on internal codebases.Prior experience in leading SRE teams and/or DevOps functions or similar in regulated environments.People Leadership – ability to manage multiple teams across different geographies, infrastructure and skill levels.Transformation – ability to keep teams and customers motivated throughout a change journey.Thought leadership – exceptional ability to communicate modern practices in operations, cloud, systems management philosophies to keep teams motivated and informed.
