We are focused on supporting the energy transition through our work in the oil and gas, renewable energy, general industrial and marine industries worldwide.We are recruiting for a Hose Assembly Technician to be based onshore from our Glasgow operations, to carry out all activities associated with the assembly of quality hydraulic, industrial and composite hose assemblies in accordance with Company procedures.Candidates should possess experience gained in a hands-on role within a production/workshop/manufacturing environment and have the ability to understand and follow work instructions. Hose and/or Hydraulic Assembly experience and involvement in the operation of termination and pressure-testing equipment would be desirable but this is not essential as full training will be given.Essential Qualifications/Experience/CompetenciesEducated to Secondary School level with academic achievements both maths and EnglishExperienced in a Production / Workshop / Manufacturing environment.Ability to understand and follow instructions.Ability to adhere to strict standards and proceduresExcellent attention to detailFlexible, “can do” approach.Ability to function well within a team environment.Excellent HSE and QA awarenessCustomer Focus Good communication skills (both written and verbal)Desirable Qualifications/Experience/CompetenciesCity & Guilds 2340 Part 1Counter Balance Forklift CertificateExperience in Hose AssemblyHydraulic Assembly experienceExperience in the operation of termination and pressure testing equipmentHave working knowledge and understanding of the various products used in the Hose Assembly areaDuties include but are not limited to:HEALTH, SAFETY, QUALITY & ENVIRONMENTALEnsure that work is produced and delivered in conjunction with the company’s Quality procedures, BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and Customer specificationsEnsure that work activities are executed in accordance with the Company’s HSE Management System and where applicable the customer’s site rules.Take all the necessary actions to reduce risks in the workplaceDeal effectively with incidents that occur in the workplaceEnsure work areas are maintained clean and hazard freeEnsure that risks are assessed and risk assessments completed where applicableEnsure that all equipment associated with the Hose Assembly Workshop is regularly inspected and maintained. Report all defects to the supervisor immediatelyBe available for routine weekly safety inspections audits as per area inspection check sheetEnsure strict compliance with PPE regulations, including other staff coming into departmentBe aware of environmental issues associated with workshop procedures.OPERATIONALLYCheck Materials listed on Job Ticket are in accordance with specifications and drawings. Discrepancies to be notified to supervisor immediately.Select all materials required, as listed on job ticket.Ensure procedure available for required assemblyCarry out assembly work in accordance with approved procedureUpon completion sign off job ticket using stamp to note procedure no and swaging details used.
