We are on the lookout for an Inclusion and Entitlement Advisor, to work as part of the Targeted Education Support service within the Council, supporting schools and alternative providers to drive up the quality of education being delivered to the children of Wiltshire.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring young people who are at risk of exclusion or accessing alternative provision have planned pathways that will lead to a successful return to school or on to work and fulfilled lives as adults,
Oversight of children and young people accessing part time or full-time alternative provision ensuring this is commissioned to meet demand and meets the needs of children and young people.
Operational management of the alternative provision work-stream which has impact across the Council.
Advising and updating wider teams within education and social care about current alternative providers
Promoting and influencing positive behaviour and inclusion across Wiltshire schools.

About the team and about you
The Strategic Alternative Provision is part of the Targeted Education service within the Education and Skills directorate at Wiltshire Council.
Within this role you will be working alongside colleagues in teams who work in the Targeted Education service, such as:
Education Welfare
Behaviour Support
Medical Needs Education and Re-integration Service (MNERS)
Virtual School and
Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS)
All these teams work together and share a commitment to support provision of a targeted, high quality and inclusive education offer for Wiltshire children at risk of underachievement.
Do you have?
Qualified Teacher status
Recent experience of working with Governors, schools, and children’s services partners to improve inclusion and learning
Experience of leadership and management/supervision of staff
With excellent communication skills, you should be able to act as a change agent, influencing at appropriate levels to drive improvement.
This post will involve visiting schools and settings across Wiltshire, so you will require a driving license and regular access to a vehicle.
