The global business news organization Quartz is looking for a Jr. Producer to join the Quartz Creative* studio.
We’re seeking someone who is intellectually curious, detail-obsessed, and an agile project manager to be a critical liaison between our in-house creatives and our advertising clients around the world. With experience at ad agencies, in-house brand/marketing teams, and/or other media companies, the ideal candidate is skilled at planning cross-functionally with enthusiasm, managing client expectations with empathy, and executing multiple projects at once with pragmatism.
The Jr. Producer will be the client-facing project lead for their own book of business, producing projects including email sponsorships, digital ads, and branded content. The Jr. Producer will also assist the Sr. Producer and Associate Director of Creative Production on more complex campaigns, sharpening their skills in account management and project coordination and supporting pivotal operational refinements for the studio.
This position will work and learn alongside two other producers, report into the Associate Director of Creative Production, join a studio of writers, designers, engineers, and strategists, and make an immediate impact on Quartz, a mission-driven, fully distributed media company with a physical headquarters in New York City.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 1-3 years of experience coordinating multi-part, multi-month campaigns from start to finish and looking to join a supportive team in a role that will let them develop as a creative advocate and client-whisperer.
How You’ll Contribute to Quartz Creative
Collaboration: Shepherding advertising projects alongside in-house editors, designers, and engineers plus media agency planners and client marketers to create mobile-minded, user-first work that tells smart stories and meets key metrics.
Time management: Managing the campaign development process, hitting critical milestones for client executions and internal initiatives, and balancing 6-month-long projects with 24-hour turnarounds.
Problem-solving: Taking initiative, looking around corners, and proactively optimizing workflows.
Curiosity: Staying on the pulse of marketing trends across the key industries our newsroom covers and our clients work within, including enterprise technology, finance, healthcare, automotive, and consulting.

1-3 years of professional experience in project management, ideally in a media or sales environment.
A love for the creative process, including rigorous time management, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented approach to projects.
Strong software skills across collaboration, presentation, and project management tools such as Google Suite, Basecamp, Slack, and SmartSheets, and/or a demonstrated ability to master new platforms quickly.
Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously and working in a fast-paced, distributed, and collaborative environment.
Excellent listening and communications skills, both written and verbal; some experience with client presentations preferred.
Ability to take client feedback, translate it into clear, actionable steps to creatives, and propose solutions that address the client needs clearly and thoughtfully.
Curiosity for the digital media and advertising landscape.
A portfolio of project management projects to review is ideal, but not required.
