Description : Our client is a well accredited healthcare provider which focuses on all clinical testing needs in an efficient and high- quality environment.
Our client is looking to recruit a Lab Supervisor to perform as a leader, in conjunction with the management team, serves to oversee the Laboratory’s technical and administrative employees and their respective duties.
Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the department and provide leadership and direction to all employees.
Perform bench work including analysis of patients samples using complex lab technologies such as mass spectrometry
Contribute to analytical method selection, validation and troubleshooting
Oversee and schedule the work processes of laboratory personnel.
Participate in Human Resources-related activities such as interviewing candidates, assisting with department transfers, organizing orientation, and writing and conducting performance appraisals.
Ensure that department staffing levels are appropriate to meet turn-around-time requirements.
Review vacation schedules, absenteeism and turnover with reports of variance being sent to appropriate management.
Enhance and contribute to the current patient-centred work environment through the enforcement of a culture of Continuous Quality Improvement.
Establish, design and monitor quality assessment activities, and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operational work processes in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Department.
Continuously assess and improve the company’s operational processes and established Key Performance Indicators, with a focus on core service workflows to ensure efficiency and excellent customer service.
Work closely with the Quality Assurance Department to review current and developing regulatory/accreditation agency standards and implement changes as appropriate.
Perform human resource management responsibilities to include staff development, performance evaluations, resolution of employee complaints and issues, disciplinary counselling, termination, and employee morale monitoring programs.
Oversee orientation, training and competency programs for employees managed.
Ensure compliance to all of company’s policies and procedures.
Develop statistical reports that project testing volumes to assist with forecasting, and the recommendation for capital equipment purchases and staff FTE adjustments.
Assist to prepare and implement the annual operating and capital budgets.
Assure the laboratory section operates within its budget by auditing expenses and using resources efficiently and effectively.
Ensure appropriate inventory stock for processes and procedures within the section.
Assure equipment repairs and preventative maintenance are completed appropriately with proper documentation with the goal of producing minimal downtime.
Assist the Scientific Team to review and integrate all new department procedures.
Resolve customer complaints, perform root cause analyses as needed, research testing or reporting variances and communicate findings and corrective action plans to appropriate individuals involved, including but not limited to, Directors and the Quality Assurance Department
Enforce all Infection Control and Safety standards.
Assist the Medical Director and Technical Director with client communications either by providing insight to the Directors relative to a client question or concern, or by speaking directly with the client.
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Laboratory Technology, Business Management or Closely related disciplines.
8 Years (Laboratory Management / Laboratory Technologist supervisor)
Fluency in English a must (Arabic an advantage)
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Capable of working independently and as a team member
Experience in an accredited laboratory, working under the supervision of a Pathologist
Software skills with knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft Office products
