The Role Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled Jira Developer with strong skills in administering the platform with rich experience in customizing and configuring the Jira projects by not only leveraging Jira’s built-in framework but also by leveraging 3rd party apps like script runner, behaviours, automations for Jira, advanced roadmaps etc. Good exposure to groovy script and manging large-scale data center installation is desirable.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Contribute to the definition of platform standards for Jira, ensure existing teams adhere to defined standards
Design, build and roll out simple and complex user customization requests, relating to but not limited to, workflows, workflow schemes, screens, screen schemes, permissions, security schemes, custom fields, notifications, event based automation, integration with other systems through app links or via webhooks
Construct custom dashboards and reports to deliver MIS to relevant users / stakeholders
Provide guidance to users in configuring their agile boards, advanced roadmaps, custom reports, and dashboards
Extend the feature and functionality by evaluating 3rd party apps available in the marketplace
Establish operational procedures for support team to streamline ongoing support activities
Monitor app performance and deploy fixes as provided by the vendor to assure stability of the platform
Work closely with the vendor to roll out new version upgrades on the on-prem data center installation and work towards the SaaS migration of the platform
Strategize long term product adoption, planning, migration to SaaS offering in collaboration with the vendor
Maintain up to date documentation of the functionality implemented
Qualification and Skills
5+ years’ experience in managing a large-scale enterprise Jira data center installation
Expert level capability in Jira administration covering all aspects related but not limited to workflows, workflow schemes, screens, screen schemes, issue types, permissions, security schemes, custom fields, notifications, event based automation, integration with other systems through app links or via webhooks, REST APIs
Knowledge of SDLC and experience working with Agile teams
Familiar using any version control system like Git, Perforce, Mercurial, SVN, CVS
Demonstrated experience writing scripts
Familiarity with Oracle or equivalent database technologies
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Ability to work across diverse teams
Understanding of the product development process, with the ability to work closely with the vendor and product teams
Demonstrated experience working with Application Servers (Apache, Tomcat, etc), SSL, Proxy
Demonstrated database and SQL experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle etc)
Experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems
Application logs are your partners in crime when troubleshooting
Experience with monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Nagios etc
Experience building custom apps through Atlassian development framework is nice to have
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting within a Java Runtime Environment is nice to have
