An opportunity has arisen within South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust for a Learning & Development Technologist to join the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team.
SWASFT has responsibility for the provision of Emergency & Urgent Ambulance services across the South West of England, (10,000 square miles 20% of mainland England) covering some of the country’s most beautiful counties (Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the former Avon area (Bristol, Bath, North and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire) and an extensive coastline.
The Trust serves a total population of over 5.5 million and is estimated to receive an influx of over 23 million visitors each year. The operational area is predominantly rural but also includes large urban centres including Bristol, Plymouth, Exeter, Bath, Swindon, Gloucester, Bournemouth and Poole.
The Trust’s Learning and Development team enable SWASFT staff to deliver high quality pre-hospital patient care by providing innovative, efficient and effective in–service training and education. This includes delivery inside and outside the classroom setting.
As part of this the TEL team creates bespoke e-learning on a variety of topics, clinical and non-clinical, working alongside Subject Matter Experts. In this role you will be required to research, investigate and understand specialist requirements and issues in order to produce e-learning resources that are fit for purpose. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of SCORM packages, and experience using software to develop learning resources (e.g. Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline 360 or equivalent).
As a technologist you will also have the chance to facilitate virtual reality delivery where applicable across the Trust. There is opportunity to develop your skills within the team as appropriate in areas such as filming and video-editing or creation of graphics. We are looking for individuals who have particular interests and skills who would like to join this innovative team.
