The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Information Technology department has an immediate opening for an IT Manager within the Advanced Data and Analytics Capabilities organization. The primary responsibility of the IT Manager role is to lead and support a team of knowledgeable big data, cloud data engineers and Infrastructure automation engineers in support of building data platforms in the cloud.
In this role you will lead staff and will have the opportunity to supply to strategy, roadmap(s), implementation, and maintenance of multiple solutions. This position will partner with multiple constituents, including senior IT and business leadership; local, System IT and National IT teams; lines of business; and vendors.
You will work towards projects within the data analytics domain to ensure team members needs are met or exceeded. Strong people and technical management experience is required, specifically within the data analytics ecosystem of tools and technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or a related field
Master’s degree desirable
7+ years of relevant IT and business work experience with extensive knowledge in data related efforts.
5+ years of experience in mentoring/leading development teams specializing in building data platforms, include of the following areas: Data lakes, data warehouses, building data pipelines, multi-tenancy and security, and Advanced Analytics.
Work cross-functionally across the organization to help identify partner difficulties and translate them into requirements/use cases for big data and analytics solutions
3+ years of experience in leading projects with moderate to high in risk and complexity.
2+ years of experience with Big Data and AWS Cloud ecosystems
Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing staff.
Strong written and verbal communication and social interactions that include established ability to communicate complex issues succinctly, thoughtfully and courteously.
Ability to productively collaborate with team members, initiate action, adapt to change, demonstrate leadership, and promote accountability.
10-15% travel required in future when working conditions return to normal.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder with an intent to become a U.S. Citizen.
People Management – lead a team of Data engineers/infrastructure automation engineers and support resources with particular attention to: staff motivation; career development; assessing training needs; building and maintaining trust and respect; setting expectations and providing continuous feedback on performance; coaching, professional development and mentoring; and succession planning.
Solution Management – monitor projects and production support to ensure adherence to defined standards and industry best practices; drive the delivery of high quality, high value products to meet or exceed customer expectations; compile and handle demand for services; build and monitor team budgets; participate in customer engagement and product onboarding, including leading ongoing customer communication and coordination.
Group and System Initiatives – act as a change agent and champion; encourage innovation and process improvement; collaborate with IT peers and leaders to define process improvement initiatives; actively participate, support, and advocate for group, division, bank and system-level initiatives.
Provide overall leadership for the development and implementation of integrated, cross functional data platform solutions.
Lead people and financial resources while ensuring the development of high quality technology solutions to customers.
Oversee improvement of processes that positively impact customer satisfaction and relationships.
Provide strategic guidance and lead organizational change.
Structure engineering teams to deliver high quality solutions in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
Banking and Financial Services industry experience
Experience with Agile team development processes and practices
