The Job Opportunity
The purpose of the role is to carryout preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on medium and low voltage power distribution related systems and assets individually or as part of a technical team, within a designated area whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the operations.
Key accountabilities
Ability to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work.
Any other work as assigned by the electrical supervisor/duty engineer to achieve the purpose.
Able to read interpret and describe the functionality of electrical drawings (circuit and wiring diagrams/schematic and layout drawings) irrespective of manufacturer.
Able to correctly setup and use electrical test equipment and interpret the test results to include;
Digital Multi meter
Low Resistance Ohmmeter
Insulation Resistance Tester
Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker Tester
Earth Fault Loop Resistance Tester
Knowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Electrical Standards and Regulations.
Ability to raise & complete PMS fault report sheets, daily utilization reports, and CMMS work orders.
Ability to adopt a logical or methodical approach to troubleshooting & fault finding on PD MV/LV systems.
Acts a role model for tradesman and helpers and leads the team by example with consistent attention to detail and quality by demonstrating a “get it right first time every time” attitude to the job.

MV & LV Cable Networks
MV/LV Protection Systems
Uninterruptible Power supplies
Asset Maintenance Experience (Hands-on)
For listed Assets, in the capacity as a lead person;
Periodic Preventive Maintenance
Breakdown Trouble Shooting
Inspections
Condition Assessment
Condition Based Maintenance
Corrective Maintenance
Configuration and Modifications
Tasks’ Experience (Hands-on)
Tasks such as, but not limited to;
Ring Main Unit Functional tests, Replacement of fuses, inspection and maintenance of internal components.
MV/LV Transformer functional tests and inspection and maintenance of internal components.
Intrusive & non-intrusive maintenance on MV/LV switchgears
Earth Testing Programs
Thermal image surveys

Specific requirements
Must have an Industrial Training Institute Diploma (2-year duration) in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent (post high school).
Holding of valid UAE driving license is desirable.
Six Sigma certification is a preference (yellow belt/green belt/black belt).
Must have minimum two (2) years’ Middle East experience within Power Distribution related environment or similar.
