Description : Job Summary: A Medical Office Clerk employee is a key element to optimize patients’ satisfaction. The position requires to welcome patients and visitors to the center, keeps patient appointments on schedule, and maintains patient personal and financial account information private and up-to-date. They are also responsible to follow the health care providers’ orders and maintain the patients’ schedule.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Register new patientsVerify patient information– Patient demographics– Patient roster– Pharmacy and contact infoVerify insurance- phone call or online– Insurance verification sheet– Scan verification (Bullzip or printed)– If patient is assigned to another PCP, help patient change to DMCAdd insurance to patient demographics– Insurance start and end datesObtain and document consent formsCollect and post payments– Copayments, deductibles, balance– Read account notes for balance and statementsScanning– Photo IDs, insurance cards, hospital/medical records, reports, patient package…etc.No shows– Call patients to reschedule missed appointment– No show letters (if not able to communicate with patient over the phone)Answer the Phone calls following Doctor’s Medical Center EtiquetteSchedule appointments accordingly when needed with or without transportationPatient Portal RegistrationWork ordersMaintain patients’ schedule Coordinate patients’ servicesService Delivery Expectations· Customer service oriented.· Team player.· Works within specified deadlines and stressful situations.· Be professional and cautious.· Exhibit commitment to effective problem-solving techniques when issues arise.· Arrive at workstation on time, ready to work, and demonstrates minimal absenteeism.· Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.· Willingly perform other duties or tasks as assigned and handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.Basic Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent for the Office Clerk position.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Exceptional customer service skills and passion for serving others.Skilled in operating phones, personal computers, software and other basic IT systems.Ability to communicate with employees, patients and other individuals in a professional and courteous manner.Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy of reports and data.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated strong listening skills.Positive and professional attitude.Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Outlook.Spoken and written fluency in English.Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machinesPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
