Expectations:
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for all front office and administrative duties, including greeting patients, collecting co-pays where applicable and finalizing patient registration, including updating all necessary insurance information and demographics. Patient Care Coordinators answer phones and may be asked to cover specific administrative duties for different physicians on different days. Patient Care Coordinators conduct themselves in accordance with the HHP Standards of Conduct and Behavior Expectations and make patient care and customer service their highest priority.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Training:
Previous EHR experience required; 2+ years of previous front office experience in an outpatient, ambulatory setting; working knowledge of HMO and PPO insurance required.
Skills:
The Patient Care Coordinator performs front and back-office functions. They must be able to provide excellent customer service to ensure the best overall patient experience. The Patient Care Coordinator must possess strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; problem solving and decision-making skills to interact with patients, physicians, office staff and managers. Intermediate knowledge of computer systems, including EHR and general principles of medical record documentation is required. Formal training/certificate in Front office medical assisting preferred. Experience with EHR preferred.
