Description : We are looking for a hands-on technology specialist who will ensure the quality of Resideo’s IoT Mobile App and Cloud Services, effectively leveraging best practices in Shift-Left and DevTestOps . As a global lead of Software Performance and Load Testing, the position needs to be capable of engaging with a variety of teams and technologies and influence them in the transformation to a quality-first mindset . Responsible for engaging teams to enable full performance tests, from the component level to end-to-end across mobile apps, web apps, and cloud platforms, the successful candidate will not only understand the technologies and tools but understand how to facilitate team transformation to a DevOps delivery model.
JOB DUTIES:
Design end-to-end performance engineering strategies and protocols for various applications and platforms within Resideo, including Chaos, availability, scalability, performance tests
Perform root cause analysis for performance optimization and architecture, running deep dives into problem areas and contributing to faster, cleaner, and fewer maintenance fixes.
Work with product management, development, test, and/or business teams to understand and define success criteria for application performance
Identify, design, and develop creative solutions for practical performance test problems during design, scripting, execution, or maintenance of the tests
Support planned and/or unplanned releases and/or upgrades on various applications and/or infrastructure hosting them by designing and executing performance tests to successfully measure the application performance
Estimate, plan work and track & report work progress. Document Test Approach and Plans
Serve as subject matter expert and collaborate with Dev, engineering, and other engineers to develop testing and monitoring approaches.
YOU MUST HAVE:
At least 10 years of experience in performance engineering development or performance architect role testing distributed applications (Service APIs, Web, Mobile, and Client-Server applications).
Strong coding skills using one of the languages such as C#, Java, or at least one modern language.
Experience in development and deployment technologies (some of Flutter / HTML5 / REST / Signal-R / AMQP / Web Sockets / MS Azure IoT Hub / AWS / Jenkins / Kubernates etc.)
Performance engineering knowledge, able to understand and architect, plan performance engineering requirement
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and deliver presentations to various levels of the enterprise.
WE VALUE:
Understanding of components such as message queues or processors (such as Kafka or RabbitMQ), DB (SQL / NoSQL), OAuth2, VMs, Containers, and Containers Orchestration.
Understanding concepts such as Service Discovery and Load Balancing.
Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter
Experience in IoT products in the Security domain (cameras/intrusion), and/or the Comfort domain (HVAC / air purifiers, etc.) preferred
Working Knowledge of the monitoring tools such as Kibana, Splunk etc.
