Description : The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts are working collaboratively to form a Pathology network (NMCPS) in line with a NHSI directive.
We are looking for a confident and well-presented individual to join our phlebotomy team. The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations. The successful applicant must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.
Full training will be given to the successful applicant – no previous experience is required
We offer a phlebotomy service in a range of locations across North Midlands including Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, ward based, community walk-in centres and community appointment based clinics. Attention to detail is important along with basic keyboard skills and applicants should enjoy the challenge of working in a fast pace patient environment.
The successful applicant will be based at COUNTY HOSPITAL working primarily on the wards. You will also be required to work at community clinics and the phlebotomy suite within the Out Patients Department at County Hospital
There may be the occasional requirement to work at Royal Stoke Hospital

You should be able to work independently and as part of a team
It is a requirement of your role you have access to a vehicle for work purposes which must be suitable for traveling to community phlebotomy clinics and transporting samples back to the hospital It is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is insured for class 1 business use and the transportation of pathology samples Expense will be paid in accordance with Trust Policy when you use your vehicle for work purposed
Hours of work are 20 per week over seven days worked predominantly over 5 mornings 7.30am – 11.30am You will have 2 days off per week and will be expected to work the odd afternoon
Weekend working is approximately 1 in 4 weekends, 7.30am – 11.30am for which you will be given time off in the preceding week
