You will be an enthusiastic leader with proven credibility who is able to lead by example, support and mentor the team to achieve the highest standards of care and support, as the residential side of the business grows!Quarterly pay reviews – On target earnings up to £45,000 + bonuses year one.Signing bonus! *Job Purpose –To lead and manage the children’s home consistent with the approach and Ethos of the organisation, to ensure the home is planned and delivered in a way that maximizes participation and reflects children’s rights.Within the overall context of:The Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015Children Act 2004, Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislationWorking Together to Safeguard ChildrenThe Homes Statement of PurposeThe Code of Conduct and Behaviour and relevant policies.The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all child protection policies are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies.General Duties –· Have responsibility for the management of the service, including staff management and supervision, care and placement planning, safeguarding, communications, report writing and monitoring quality and compliance.· Ensure full implementation of statutory and organisational policies and procedures, whilst providing feedback on the effectiveness of all.· To be responsible for developing constructive working relationships within the wider community to promote the overall outcomes for looked after children.· Ensure that staff have the skills, experience and qualifications to meet the needs of each child or young person placed in the home and provide continuity of care.· To lead and manage the home in a way that is aspirational, inspiring both children, young people and the staff.· Promote monitoring reports, statistical data and evaluation as required and in keeping with organisational polices and procedures with an agreed deadline.· To ensure that the principles of equality and diversity are embedded in the culture of the home.· To ensure that each child or young person has individual care and care planning which is tailored to their specific needs and requirements as laid out in their relevant plans.· To maintain professional relationships with the team around the child, multi-agency partnerships and where appropriate parents and families.Personal Management and Employee Development1. Ensure that equality of opportunity exists in all employment practices, and that the recruitment, induction, probation, appraisal and termination of any employment is undertaken according to Human Resource Policies, Procedures and guidelines.2. To establish and support appropriate staff supervision, welfare and support mechanisms, in accordance with the supervision policy, and ensuring that staff are motivated to achieve the objectives of the home. Ensure that annual appraisals are undertaken for all staff.3. To ensure all staff undertake mandatory training, and are assessed and appraised, and are able to enhance their skills, knowledge and personal development by being made aware of and given the opportunity to take up individual/group training programmes and experiences, including relevant Diplomas.4. Contribute to the formulation of policies and procedures for the day-to-day operation of the home. Produce, co-ordinate and edit reports to ensure they are delivered to a high standard.5. To implement a continuous improvement plan, that details out areas that are being developed and how you are achieving this. As the RM you will hold people to account for their part in this process and ensure that outcomes are metWhat would be expected from me as a Registered Manager?· Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Registered Manager/Deputy Manager role· Have an NVQ Level 3 in Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent· Either have, or be working towards, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare or equivalent· Strong working knowledge of the Children’s Homes regulations, health, and safety legislation, COSHH, and other relevant legislation· Experience of working with and managing challenging behaviour including attachment and trauma· Experience of managing relationships at multiple levels and with local authorities· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written· Flexible and adaptable, with a proven track record of working and managing conflicting priorities and challenges· Ability to work across and support the management of a 24/7 operation· Be over the age of 21· To hold a full UK manual driving license· To be kind and caring with a good sense of humour with the ability to develop relationships with our children· Right to live and work in the UKWhat do I get in return for being a Registered Manager?In addition to working in modern home environment with a small, dedicated team of colleagues who are passionate about providing the best care for the children, you will also receive:· Competitive salary and access to company bonus scheme· Free meals whilst on shift, encouraging everyone to eat together as you would at home and encourage social interaction· Contributions to your pension through the auto-enrolment scheme· 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays· Access to employee discount schemes (ie, Blue Light Card)· Refer a friend bonus schemeHOURS –The typical working hours will be 37.5 hours per week.
