The post holder will provide day to day technical support on all planned and reactive SHEQ related matters within their area of responsibility and support other team members and business functions across all regions as required.Key elements of the role include: Providing advice, support, training and guidance to the business on all SHEQ and Facilities Management (FM) related topics.Review and update of SHEQ and FM related processes, procedures, and management system documentation.Lead and facilitate SHEQ related working groups, meetings and forums.Create, implement and deliver SHEQ and FM action and improvement plans.Conduct investigations and monitoring audits/inspections and produce formal reports.The SHEQ Manager role is critical to the overall success of the SHEQ team and SHEQ compliance of the wider business ensuring that regulatory and relevant standards and requirements are identified, understood and consistently applied as a minimum across the Group.The post holder will focus on their regional area in the South of the UK whilst working closely with the SHEQ North and SHEQ Systems Manager to provide national guidance on their specialist topics and ensure consistency and best practice across the team. The role will require coordination and engagement across the business with the full range of functions and with clients, contractors, accreditation auditors and regulators where required. The role will involve travel across the UK to meet business needs as necessary.The position provides an opportunity for the post holder to Develop their line management skills and the competence of their direct report/s, and lead the delivery of the SHEQ targets and objectives in their area of responsibility.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSHEQ Manager South will:Maintain clear reporting lines to the Head of SHE Operations.Manage and develop direct report/s and team members.Provide advice, support, training and guidance to the business on all SHEQ and FM related topics.Lead and facilitate SHEQ related working groups, meetings, and forums.Create, implement, and deliver SHEQ and FM action and improvement plans.Chair the SHEQ Health and Safety Forum (South) meeting.Develop and maintain required SHEQ and FM Management System Procedures, risk assessments documents and records.Conduct investigations and monitoring audits/inspections and produce formal reports.Develop effective working relationships with the SHEQ team members and internal/external stakeholders.Plan and participate in training and development activities ensuring CPD is maintained.Plan, develop and disseminate SHEQ related communications.Deputise for Head of SHE Operations where required to meet business needs.Carry out other relevant duties as requiredEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/MEMBERSHIPSTech membership of IOSH or equivalent (Desirable Grad IOSH).NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.Desirable Lead Auditor QualificationDesirable Membership of IEMA or equivalentSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEEssential ExperienceRelevant experience within a SHEQ role.Experience in working with SHEQ Systems.Experience in writing / reviewing SHEQ management system documentation / reports / communications.Risk assessment experience.Incident investigation and reporting experience as an investigator.Lead Auditor and inspection experienceDesirableExperience in developing and delivering communications / marketing plansPERSONAL ATTRIBUTESManages own workload effectivelySupervises and plans team workloadDiligent with demonstrable attention to detail and accuracy of informationImprovement orientated with focus on delivering resultsFlexible and able to respond appropriately to competing prioritiesIn ReturnWe support Mental, Physical and Financial wellbeing, and we’re proud of our benefits package to reward great talent which includes:25 personal holiday days per year with additional allocation of 8 public holidays (includes options to buy and sell)After 5 years’ service, you will be rewarded with an additional 5 days annual leave increasing your total to 30 personal days and 8 public holidays.Smart HealthKeeping our employees mentally and physically healthy is one of the things that matters most to us.Employee Assistance Programme (free access to counselling & support) with easy access via My Healthy Advantage app.Access to SmartHealth app – includes a free 24/7 online GP and a range of wellbeing services.Cycle Scheme – lower your carbon footprint whilst staying healthy.Medicash Employee health plan – Medicash offer health plans that look after you and your family by providing a range of positive healthcare benefits.
