Description : Summary
The HR & OD team is looking to appoint a full-time Strategic Delivery Officer post on a 12-month fixed-term basis (with the potential to extend) to improve the overall employee experience from candidate attraction to the end of employment. This will include developing and taking a lead role in delivering projects and activities that support employee engagement, wellbeing, our new ways of working and the delivery of our business plan.
The HR&OD Strategic Delivery Team is responsible for supporting the development of and implementing effective human resources strategies and policies to support the achievement of the corporate vision to be a high-performing council, providing value for money customer-focused services.
About the role
This role will take the lead on a range of HR&OD development initiatives that support the organisations transformation programme aimed at embedding the positive learnings from the coronavirus pandemic so we can emerge stronger and more resilient.
The successful candidate will be part of a team looking at our systems, policies, processes, and the culture and behaviour of our workforce in delivering our services, identifying and delivering activities that improve these areas, and ensuring we have a skilled, agile, and engaged workforce.
This role will develop innovative ideas to improve the whole employee lifecycle including candidate attraction, performance and talent management, staff engagement and wellbeing, reward and benefit management, ensuring KPIs for employee retention and engagement are developed and met.
About you
With excellent communication and high-impact presentation skills, you will have the ability to motivate and encourage creativity in others. You will need to have a high level of personal motivation and be able to display professional credibility to influence senior managers to fully embrace initiatives.
You will have excellent project management and organisation skills and be able to deliver at pace.
You will have a project management qualification or be educated to degree level and have equivalent relevant experience in this field.
