Description : Trainee Human Resource and Employee Development Officer Location: Plymouth, UKSponsorship: NoSalary: Depending on experienceDue to long-term business growth, we are currently looking for a trainee to join our HR team. This role would suit aspiring HR professionals looking to take the next step in their career. Ideally, you will have some exposure to HR Operations, perhaps working in an HR Administrator or HR Assistant Role.Overview of role: This is a “hands on” H.R. Generalist role working closely with the various functions within our business.There will be a predominant focus on absence and well-being.Initially this role will involve a high level of administration duties, with gradual progression towards a full HR Officer position, supported by training, mentoring and by gaining experience.To be considered, candidates must already have some (or be working towards) HR qualifications and / or experience.This role is ideally suited to someone looking to develop their career working across a wide range of Human Resource and Employee Development activities.Main tasks and responsibilities will include: Working effectively as part of the Human Resources team.Completion of a personal training and development plan, working towards a full HR Officer’s position (dependant on current skills and experience).Supporting the current H.R. team.Various administration and data processing activitiesEnsuring all data is maintained with a high level of accuracy and a good attention to detail, whilst ensuring full confidentiality.To actively monitor and process absences in accordance with company procedures. This includes monitoring the absence telephone line and liaising with absent employees.Note-taking during meetings.Maximising the contribution HR makes throughout the organisation through own efforts and by supporting organisational development activities.As part of your development, you will learn and gain experience in being able to: Provide support for line managers in all aspects of human resources, ensuring that all legal and statutory obligations are adhered to, and best practice is followed.Enhance partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.Promote a positive work culture.Promote a positive Health and Safety culture.Work within the spirit of the company’s policies and procedures, ensuring consistency across the business.Funding and support for CIPD Level 5 qualification.Qualities: Resilient and able to work effectively in pressured situations.Ability to build strong rapport / trusting relationships.·Organisational and planning skills.Good telephone communication skills.IT literate (knowledge of SAP would be an advantage).
