Description : Job DescriptionAt Softway a UI Engineer brings a combination of UI/UX, development, and QA to create a web experience on a cross-collaborative international team. Their main focus is creating user-facing designs by turning design into code and then delivering it to end-users. The core concepts they will work with are responsive design, JS frameworks, Hubspot, agile project management, and process improvements. The work spans both client and internal products allowing for a range of experiences.When working with clients, you’re part of a team that is assembled to deliver what our clients need. Most of the work is focused on improving business processes but we occasionally will work on marketing websites.When working with our products, you’re part of a stable cross-functional team that works together to deliver new functionality using our design system and dev standards.On either side, your team will be looking to you to answer the following questions:What will it take to turn these designs into a final product? And how can we best proceed forward?What are the tradeoffs between design options for the user, the dev team, and the business?RESPONSIBILITIES: UXUnderstand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiencesUse research insights to drive the concept and execution of any materialsCreate and implement of customized experiences for the digital user in a single app and across a family of appsProduce high-quality solutions through flow diagrams, graphic designs, storyboards and site mapsProvide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behaviorPerform tests on user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages and bannersUnderstand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for bothPresent solutions and approaches to the internal teams.DESIGNUse established design systems to mockup screensSearch for stock images and videos that are on-brandLight photo editing for color balancingExperience in creating wireframes, mockups and prototypes using Figma/PhotoshopDEVELOPMENT: Develop web application front ends to match current user experience expectations.Use API’s to pull or push user interface able dataDevelop in JS framework (preferably react)Use and assist in the maintenance of a design system in Figma, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavascriptExperience in CSS3 concepts (Animations, Flexbox, Grids, Variables, Media queries, etc).Familiarity with relevant CSS frameworks(Bootstrap/tailwind/foundation/12-column grid system, etc).Experience working with CSS preprocessors like SASS/Less, etc.Familiarity with CMS platforms(Hubspot, Sitefinity, etc).QAFollow test driven development including practices to test UIUse unit tests primarily for testingExperience in website speed optimization, performance testing and improvement practices.REQUIREMENTSDegree or demonstrable experience in UX or design decision making in context of business requirements or goalsDegree or demonstrable experience in web development in responsible websites and appsAbility and willingness to participate in international remote work sessionsExperience working with design systemsMeeting with the design team to discuss application features and design ideas.Ability to research and develop POC based on latest trendsKnowledge on Cross browser/Cross OS/Cross devicesProblem-solving/Debugging skills and the ability to optimize code for the best possible outcome.Good communication skills.Good decision making skills.BENEFITSThe folks here are a talented bunch that you would love to interact and work with.
