Join the McGee CPA Group, P.C. and grow professionally and personally.SUMMARY: Maintain assigned clients’ books and records by performing general bookkeeping duties (including uploading and/or entering transactions into QuickBooks and Sage Accounting and reconciling bank/credit card accounts). Assists the tax department on an as needed basis.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Prepares financial reports by maintaining books and records.Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.Collects job assignment, time budget, and deadlines from Manager.Enters transactions via ScanWriter, manually, or via Bank Feed (per Manager’s instructions).Attends review meeting to assess engagement budget (over/under).Offers opinions to improve future engagements (i.e., training, software, etc.)Collects job assignments, weekly time schedule, monthly time budget, task completion punch list, and deadlines from Manager.Downloads bank/credit card statement(s) to subfolder(s). Complete bank/credit card statement download matrix.Records assigned journal entries.Supervisory Responsibilities: N/AQualifications: Highly detail-oriented and organized. Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with accounting software and programs.Education and/or Experience: 3-5 years related experience and/or training in progressively responsible either in public accounting firm or private corporate environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Mental Abilities (Language Skills, Math Skills, Reasoning Ability): Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consultants, customers, the general public, and any government agency as required.Math Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Other Qualifications – Must be able to direct and lead a diverse workforce and respond to a variety of personalities, situations, and business needs with the objective of maintaining the company’s mission and goals. Must possess a deep level of understanding of business accounting and the reporting (financial statements) required to manage company sales and assets. Excellent analytical skills are required for interpreting financial data, procedures, and policies. Strong problem solving and decision making ability is required.Other Skills and Abilities – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications to include Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as strong working knowledge of Internet applications, accounting software, inventory control and purchasing systems software.
