Description : theSkimm’We’re hiring an Associate Producer of Audio.About our team and what we’ll build togetherWe’re the audio team at theSkimm, and we’re looking for an associate producer to help make our weekly podcasts: Skimm This, where we break down the big news of the week for our audience of millennial women; 9 to 5ish, where theSkimm’s co-founders, Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg, talk to successful women about their careers; and Pop Cultured, where we explore and explain big stories in entertainment, media, sports, and culture.We cover a lot of ground, always have one eye on the news, work quickly, think creatively — and we have fun doing it.Our associate producer will be right in the thick of it, working closely with hosts, talent, and production leads to research, prep, write, fact check and produce segments and episodes.How you’ll contribute to our missionWork across multiple weekly podcasts, with a primary focus on Skimm This and 9 to 5ish with theSkimm — pitching stories, booking guests, researching, fact-checking, and script writing in theSkimm’s brand voice, and reporting into the senior producer-host on Skimm ThisAttend pitch meetings, offer editorial feedback, contribute to episode generation and development on all showsSource audio elements for and assist with fact-checking on Skimm This and Pop CulturedWork with the 9 to 5ish show lead and co-hosts to research guests and cut down interview tape into episodesWrite short news segments for Skimm ThisYou’re ready for this! This person must be based in the New York area and able to come into the office on a regular basis in the future. At this time, our office remains closed but it is our goal to open as soon as it can be done safely. We are continuing to closely monitor the state of COVID-19 in NYC and will provide updates to our employees as soon as we have them available.We will require COVID-19 vaccinations for anyone coming to our office.
