POSITION SUMMARY:
We have a new exciting and challenging role to lead our Backend automation testing efforts. The Backend Automation Testing Engineer Lead will be responsible for creating testing frameworks for new projects and building regression test suites for existing projects along with hiring, training and managing the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop test frameworks for new projects
Develop regression tests for existing projects
Integrate testing frameworks with CI/CD tools
Work closely with backend engineers to seamlessly integrate testing suits into the development processes
Design, develop and execute automated tests, including, unit tests, integration tests, load tests, volume tests. Both in blackbox and whitebox modes
Setup and maintain test environments
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Hire and train team members
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS:
Minimum of 5 years of QA Automation Engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience in backend testing, API testing and automation skills
Experience in Object-Oriented programming languages, specifically java, with experience and knowledge in Java version 8 or more
Experience in one or more scripting languages, preferably python
Basic knowledge in shell scripting is required
Experience with performance and load testing
Experience working in Agile environments
Experience in JIRA management tool, defect cycle, defect priority and triage
Solid understanding and experience working with AWS and its services (iif not AWS, any other public cloud provider)
Experience in SQL for backend testing of databases
This includes knowledge in database design, as well as the capability of writing and executing queries and procedures
Excellent verbal and written english communication skills
Experience in git source control
Experience in CI/CD tools is preferable
Strong problem-solving skills
