Are you an experienced in behavioural change and an experienced facilitator? Do you understand what motivates people and teams? Have you coached individuals and teams with the purpose of enabling high performance teams and a collaborative culture?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an IBIP (Improving Behaviours Improving Performance) Delivery Lead to join our Major Projects Directorate. You will be joining a team of like-minded people whose aim is to enable our integrated project teams to focus on behavioural change to enable better delivery performance within projects and programmes.
Whilst there will be some home working and virtual workshops, you will be required to travel across our offices within England, delivering workshops and engaging with stakeholders. The role is fast paced and sometimes reactive and needs flexibility in approach to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
An informal blended working approach has been adopted for many of our roles across National Highways. We offer many different ways to work flexibly and for this role we’re open to discuss part-time working, job shares, and flexible start and finish times. What you’ll be leading on
Providing advice and strategic direction to business leaders in our programmes, influencing them to focus on behavioural change, creating the right culture and behaviours to form high performing integrated teams
Collaborating with key stakeholders to create behavioural intervention solutions, by identifying their needs and creating content
Delivering workshops to our integrated teams focusing on team development and behavioural change – both on line and face to face
Developing and supporting our coach community who work within the projects and programmes
Assessing the success and value of IBIP interventions to ensure continuous improvement
Building relationships and managing contracts with specialist external resources to support the IBIP principles, ensuring transfer of capability internally, avoiding repeat work and optimising their performance
Utilising your behavioural change experience, knowledge and skills to develop colleague’s talent; and improve and add to the IBIP interventions
To be successful you’ll need
Experience of using behavioural science and behavioural change principles to develop individuals and high performing teams and bring about cultural change
Experienced in facilitation and leadership coaching within a collaborative working environment
Ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders – sometimes having challenging conversations whilst building high trusting relationships
Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate business and people data to inform discussions and influence strategy
Knowledge of the highways industry and its complexities (or the ability to learn it quickly) e.g. delivery of design and construction and contract arrangements, ideally within major infrastructure project and programmes
Virtual working techniques with the ability to lead and facilitate teams in an on-line environment as well as face to face

The Improving Behaviours, Improving Performance (IBIP) programme of work exists to enable improved delivery performance by improving the behavioural and collaborative approach of combined National Highways and supply chain teams.
IBIP Delivery Leads are responsible for building strong relationships with HE’s major programmes (SMP, RIP, CIP) in order to work closely with them to develop and deliver behavioural maturity workstreams within projects that support improved delivery performance.
