Description : ENGIE are recruiting for a Business Development Director – Central Government to be based at home with travel throughout the UK . This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Business Development Director will be accountable for developing the presence and understanding of EQUANS in the Central Government sector and owning the front-end business development activity to increase the quality of our long term pipeline with deep insight and relationships with our chosen customers
What will you deliver?
Develop the marketing strategy for the sector to raise profile of EQUANS externally and to our internal clients
Engage and nurture c-suite executive relationships across the industry which will generate new business opportunities and raise the profile of the company in the sectors
Proactively building key (top 25 external) client relationships to maintain a strong pipeline and win rate
Work closely with Commercial and Finance team to challenge existing and new costs to produce compelling outcomes
Work collaboratively with Regional Managing Directors to identify ways to improve current operations and improve profitability and customer retention as part of an agenda of continuous improvement, drawing on customer insights
Ensure that business activities and individuals adhere to the organisation’s Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; to safeguard the environment, protect the wellbeing of individuals and minimise business risk
Manage complex deal dialogue with external and internal clients and be the escalation point for any disputes arising as part of the opportunity development or bid submission processes.
Build a culture where strategic planning of accounts is embraced in the leadership teams of both operational and business development communities and effective monitoring of performance of these accounts is in place.

Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
A serial networker, capable of building and maintaining long term relationships with customers, advisors, civil servants
A track record in winning long term large central government department facility management (Hard and Soft) contracts via CCS frameworks
Understands the working practices and intrarelationships of the civil service and its decision making processes.
An ability to think through, design, negotiate and gain approval for complex ‘go-to-market’ commercial models for example, SPVs, JVs, partnering arrangements
Holds established trusted relationships with Central Government department and CCS decision makers
A proven ‘trusted advisor’ able to demonstrate influencing outcomes to the benefit of the company
