To support the DHL Supply Chain business and accelerating growth agenda within Manufacturing Logistics UKI, we are looking for an innovative, strategic, customer-obsessed and highly engaging individualto become ourBusiness Development Director.
The role of Business Development Director has three 3 key areas of focus; Strategy, Leadership and Business Growth (New Business).
Strategy: As this role will have overall ownership for our ‘New from New’ business development agenda, you will need to define the strategy to be used by you and the team and that will enable successful delivery against the key objects outlined within the mid-term plan.
Leadership: Through strategic direction, you will encourage, support, coach and develop a team of sales professionals. You will ensure they all have a vested interest in the agenda and believe in the strategy and that it will enable the achievement of both their individual goals and targets along with that of the Manufacturing Logistics UKI business.
Business Growth: You will contribute to the business and growth by pro-active strategic targeting, identification, assessment, pursuing and winning of new sales opportunities. Furthermore, you will share best practices and market knowledge with the team and other DHL’s team to ensure, as a collective, sale targets and KPI’s are delivered.

Demonstrable record of success, ideally focusing on New Business generation.
In-depth knowledge of industries such as Auto-Mobility, Manufacturing, Engineering or other Industrial sectors, coupled with the ability to converse in sector related terminology.
Experience of defining & implementing sales focus strategies, with an excellent record of success.
Proven credentials in leading complex commercial negotiations and route to contract closure.
Previous experience in shaping and leading a team to success, with accountability for personal and team collective results/achievements.
