In Brand, we are lucky to be able to build long-term, in-depth partnerships with our clients through continuous Brand Guidance programmes and vitally important Brand Strategy projects. We immerse ourselves in our client’s worlds to really understand their brands, communications and business strategy in order to help them grow. We are lucky enough to work with the majority of the world’s biggest advertisers, covering categories such as personal care, household goods, food and drink, alcoholic drinks, finance, retail, technology, travel and many more.
You will be heavily involved in developing collaborative, strategic partnerships with your clients. The research is broad across multiple data sources; a blend combining brand tracking (mostly automated and app based), brand positioning, brand guidelines, analytics (there is a very strong analytics/data science team here), client data, segmentation etc.

A crucial part of the central BD team, the Brand Business Development Director will drive growth for the domain through purposeful collaboration with clients, the BD team and Client Leads in Brand. You will be responsible for new business revenue sales targets for the Brand domain and activities across hunting (Steal) and+1 upsell.
The Business Development Director takes a long-term look at Business Development strategy, ensuring a balance of Short/Medium/Long term focus to deliver sales targets across all priority domain products. You will have a good level of Brand expertise so that you can speak credibly and with authority with senior clients and help them understand how our brand philosophy and offer can address their business issues.
The Brand Guidance offer is receiving significant investment and a broader capability stack is being built to give clients more options to meet different needs. This role will be focused on selling Core Tracking as well as a new Syndicated Tracking offer being launched in H2 2022. You will need to work closely and collaboratively with people in BD responsible for Brand Equity Evaluator on Marketplace (launching in April 2022) and Enhanced Tracking (launching in 2023) as client needs may flex up and down the range of tools in the Brand Guidance suite.
Develops the commercial plan and strategy for Brand with the Head of Brand and Head of Business Development. Agrees on priority opportunities in SML term.
Works closely with the Brand team to agree the balance of hunting (and in some instances, farming) required to meet new business target. Leads both strands by mobilising support of the relevant individuals in the Business Development team and across the wider Kantar business.
Prioritises client opportunities around identified major growth bets through leadership of accountability for Project Steal Ensures a collaborative approach with client leads in Brand supporting Steal but takes responsibility for ensuring actions in contact plans for Steal targets are followed through.
Manages an extensive list of client contacts, developing opportunities both alone and with support of the relevant members of the BD team and the wider Kantar business. Ensures a collaborative approach with clients who are common targets for different areas of the Kantar business.Generates extensive pipeline of new client opportunities through proactive hunting and farming approaches.
Proactively works to keep the Brand team top of mind across the internal kantar business. Works with Head of Business Development and cross-sell activation leads to support client service teams to surface and manage client opportunities.
Works with Brand experts to identify the right level of expertise to identify commercial opportunities.
Works closely with team to maximise win rates in line with commercial best practice and profit guardrails.
Develops strong relationships and collaborates meaningfully across Kantar, relevant to their objectives and priorities
