Description : Wilsons Auctions is the largest independently owned auction house in the UK and Ireland. We have an exciting opportunity for a Class 1 Car Transporter Driver to join our fleet, based out of our Oxford Branch.The role holder is responsible for the appraising/inspecting, loading, driving and delivery of customer owned motor vehicles to dealer outlets, auctions, and other commercial locations in a safe, compliant and timely manner. You will be based at our Oxford depot so it would be beneficial to be living within close travelling distance.The ideal applicant should meet the following essential criteria:No more than 6 points (SP) and must not include any of the following:IN5 IN10 or DR offences.You must hold a valid and up to date driver Cpc & digital tachograph card.Key responsibilitiesIn conjunction with the Transport Allocator, plan the delivery of the load in the most efficient manner, maximising delivery opportunitiesUndertake an effective appraisal and inspection of every vehicle and complete your drivers POD.Report all vehicle damage accurately and immediately to the Business ManagersLoad each motor vehicle in accordance with procedures, ensuing they are secured safely & the transporter isn’t overloaded (highlighted in the drivers’ company handbook).Avoid damage to vehicles, car transporter, customer and public property.Undertake a full vehicle daily defect check of the transporter before every movement and record accordingly. Raise any vehicle defects immediately to the Business Managers.Abide by the regulations relating to tachograph, driver hours and Working Time RegulationsDrive safely and professionally with due care and attention to other road users, abiding by the Highway Code/Road Traffic Act.Keep all documentation legible, paying attention to detailDisplay a positive attitude towards your work, behave professionally and maintain a clean and tidy image.Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.00am – 4.00pmThe role will include Tuesday and Thursday evenings – this will be paid as overtime (Overtime is payable once more than 40 hours per week (excluding breaks) have been worked and is applied on a week to week basis)To apply for this position please email your CV to janicestewart@wilsonsauctions.com quoting REF OXTDThe closing date for receiving applications is Friday 18 February 2022 @ 5.00pmJob Type: Full-time
