Description : As Devops Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow the team responsible for the HP Wolf Security devops support. You will be part of the extended software engineering team that’s responsible for HP Wolf Security products such as Sure Click and Sure Sense. Your team provides the technical support that the wider team needs to deliver the product. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, managing developer network IT infrastructure, build systems, automated test systems (both on prem and AWS hosted) and code signing services.
This is a managerial role with an expectation that to start with you will also be an individual contributor. Initially it is likely to be 20% pure management and 80% technical. Over time the team will grow, and the role will become more managerial. We will expect you to have a deep understanding of the architecture and code of the various devops systems. You will also be expected to interact closely with the engineering leads and help drive the future vision of our development systems. We also expect close interaction with the wider HP and Cybersecurity teams to make sure that our development practices meet or exceed the wider HP requirements. We also expect to work with HP to see if there are places where we can integrate effectively with global devops systems.
What you’ll be doing
Manage and lead HP Wolf Security’s Devops team. We are mostly based in Cambridge, UK where this role will be based.
Work with stakeholders to define requirements and develop new features
Recruit and lead a highly skilled team
Drive the architectural direction of our development infrastructure
Work with Engineering management, HP IT and Cyber security to plan roadmap, adjust project priorities
We’d like you to have
A proven track record of successful delivery, support and scaling of IT systems both on prem and in cloud
Programming and scripting experience (Powershell and Python an advantage)
Technical leadership and mentorship experience
Ability to plan a phased, incremental approach to software project delivery
