Designed by youth, the HYPE Center fosters young peopleʼs self-determination by connecting them to the youth-identified services, providers, and resources they want — all centralized under one app and under one roof. You can learn more at HYPECenterSF.com.The HYPE Center Advisory Board, composed entirely of youth, offers ongoing feedback and helps with key decision making to ensure that the Center stays aligned with youth needs and vision as it evolves.The HYPE Center is part of SF SOL, a new San Francisco collaborative providing comprehensive support forSan Francisco youth who have experienced or are at risk of commercial sexual exploitation, that is funded by the California Department of Social Services. This collaborative is a demonstration project for the State ofCalifornia, with the goal of applying lessons learned to support youth across the statePOSITION RESPONSIBILITIESThis full-time position will be a core part of the Freedom Forward leadership team and will report to FreedomForwardʼs Executive Director. Position responsibilities include, though are not limited to:1. Overseeing the ongoing and iterative development of Freedom Forwardʼs HYPE Center to ensure Center operations meet high-level vision and achieve objectives: Based on youth input, oversee the refinement and delivery of the HYPE Centerʼs theory of change, key goals, indicators, and long-term business plan.Oversee the development and successful implementation of:All HYPE Center operational systemsAll HYPE Center data, technology, and evaluation systemsHYPE Centerʼs legal, privacy, and data sharing agreementsAll HYPE Center policies and internal trainingsDevelop and manage the Centerʼs approach to risk, safety, and harm reduction.Oversee youth engagement strategies to ensure that the HYPE Center is a safe haven and support for youth experiencing commercial sexual exploitation.Analyze youth and provider data regularly and leverage insights to drive continuous operational improvement.Incorporate youth and provider feedback to make ongoing improvements to Center operations.Work with an external evaluation team to conduct ongoing program and collaboration evaluation.2. Overseeing day-to-day operations at the HYPE Center: Provide regular and consistent supervision and case consultations of HYPE Center staff to grow their expertise and support their implementation of HYPE Center policies and philosophy.Ensure Center staff, volunteers and providers have adequate training and support.Foster a diverse and collaborative work culture which encourages openness, approachability, joy, transparency, and is supportive of challenges.Oversee the refinement of crisis intervention and de-escalation protocols, training, and debriefings with the team to ensure that crises are handled effectively at the Center.Oversee coordination of any large community-wide events.Work in a collaborative staff/provider team setting to triage youth in emergency crisis situations for immediate needs assessment and short and long term planning for success.Oversee the HYPE Centerʼs budget, with support from the Freedom Forward Finance Manager.3. Developing, curating, and overseeing multi-service center relationships, partnerships, and training: Identify and recruit new providers, volunteers, staff, and sponsors as needed.Represent HYPE with external stakeholders (e.g., government, potential partners and funders, and public meetings), and support other teammates in preparing to join when appropriate.Develop and oversee the Centerʼs provider, staff, and volunteer orientation, trainings, and feedback to ensure a quality experience for youth.Facilitate meetings and trainings across center providers to maintain healthy, safe, and responsive culture and share learnings across providers.4. Supporting external communications and resource development: Help write grants, proposals, and communications to secure additional resources.Ensure www.HYPECenterSF.com and www.freedom-forward.org/hype is up-to-date.Report on the Centerʼs progress to supporters and grant makers.Meet with potential and existing supporters as needed.Actively contribute to social media and newsletters as requested.Document key learning, systems, data reports, and processes to share with partners and other communities.Ensure HYPE always has relevant promotional materials that are accurate and representative of its work.5. Actively participating in shaping Freedom Forward as a whole as a part of its leadership team: Ensure the Freedom Forward team and Board is up-to-date on HYPE Center progress and equipped to be effective ambassadors of HYPE through reports, presentations, dashboards, talking points, etc.Attend and participate in Freedom Forward staff and Directors meetings.Partner with Freedom Forwardʼs Finance and Operations staff to ensure success of HYPE.Identify areas for organizational improvement and support such improvements when possible.Other responsibilities as assigned.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of relevant professional experience with demonstrated leadership progressionDeep roots and understanding of Bay Area resources, organizations, and youth cultureExperience working with youth in a group setting and responding to crisesExperience managing, supervising, mentoring, and developing staff talent, including youth and those with lived experience (experienced/experiencing homelessness, incarceration/probation, trafficking, sex work, foster care, and those who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC)Able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including youth, staff, volunteers, funders, and external partnersExperience collecting and interpreting data to inform programmatic improvementsDemonstrated success and comfort facilitating meetings, presentations, and trainingsTrack record of developing new organizational processes and systems that support operations of a large-scale project or programExceptional project management skills, attention to detail, and organization skillsFoundational knowledge of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE)Deep commitment to fostering young peopleʼs autonomy, voice, and right to self-determination, as well as respecting and incorporating young peopleʼs ideas and recommendations in decision-making and programmatic decisions where needed and appropriateCOMPENSATION
AND BENEFITSThe salary for this position is $95,000. Because we know that the practice of salary negotiation can contribute to pay inequities, this salary is non-negotiable.
