Job Purpose
Identify new business opportunities to grow BBC’s portfolio of licensing partners into new categories of business and retail outlets.
Responsible for engaging with and pitching key retail buyers to position the BBC Studios brands for optimal brand exposure at retail.
Develop, pitch and execute retail marketing promotions in support of branded programs in-store.
Support and carry out strategic direction and business goals set by departmental head to garner incremental opportunities at retail.
Main Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Accountable for:
Developing and nurturing ongoing relationships with retail buyers across tiers of distribution and category
Support DTR partnerships – pitch additional promotional programs, incremental shelf space and brand marketing support.
Customizing decks for retail sales pitches –must be proficient in power point
Responsibility – Individuals who act on the specific tasks, processes, etc.
Analyzing ongoing sales results and feeding information back to internal teams
Maintaining an ongoing analysis of the competitive landscape
Relationships – Needs to be a strong, energetic individual who can engage with licensees, retail buying community to bring additional support and exposure to BBC brands.
Strategic Planning & Decision Making – Will follow strategic plans and decisions made by management for each individual brand being represented.
Nature and Scope
Problems Faced – General challenge of engaging with retail buyers can be difficult.
Planning and Organization – Will help to develop a planning calendar to outline timing and key retail accounts.
Direction Received – strategy will outline the prioritization of retail accounts, timing and such. A calendar will be developed to keep tabs on timing to optimize touchpoints with buyers.

Knowledge and Experience
Professional Experience: 5-10 years experience in licensing, retail or the consumer products industry
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Strong analytical skills with an understanding of retail sales
Technologically savvy with excellent skills with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Ability to travel
