What you will be doing as our new EIA Coordinator
Responsible for the successful preparation and delivery of environmental impact assessments (EIA) for EIA Developments comprising components of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) projects, reporting directly to the Consenting Manager.
This role will include resourcing the EIA teams in consultation with the Consenting Manager and the EIA Discipline Leads, the on-going co-ordination of the team up to the submission of the Planning Application(s), and during the discharge of any environmental consents.
The SPA programme of work involves the construction of circa 500km of new strategic, large diameter clean water pipeline across Anglian Water’s region. Managing the EIA process for statutory and non-statutory EIA Development is crucial to the success of the SPA.
We are looking for highly motivated EIA Co-ordinators who have experience in setting up high performing multi-disciplinary EIA teams, preferably across multi-partner organisations, and also working collaboratively with other EIA teams to share resources, efficiencies and lessons learnt.
Experienced in undertaking EIAs for linear projects, including all necessary survey works, impact assessment, mitigation design and associated production and submission of environmental reports to multiple (and varying) local Councils and other environmental regulatory authorities.
Demonstrates capability in balancing the environmental and planning requirements with the demands of capital project delivery in order to meet the required customer outcomes in a sustainable fashion.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver the EIA in accordance with the Anglian Pipelines EIA strategy
Rapid mobilisation of the EIA team for scoping stage
On-going co-ordination of the EIA team and collaborative working with other workstreams (including design, delivery and stakeholder engagement)
Quality assurance, review process, and archiving for the EIA
Co-ordinate the impact assessments and develop integrated mitigation design across the EIA disciplines
Manage submission of the Environmental Statement to achieve key delivery milestone
Discharge the environmental conditions on the planning consent
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours.
We are looking for someone with
Experienced EIA Co-ordinator to manage an EIA team to drive the EIA programme and develop a proportionate EIA that focuses on the likely significant effects of the project component.
Identify environmental risks (costs, programme, legal liabilities, PR), propose mitigation measures, and track the risk profiles throughout the EIA process through EIA preparation, submission and the discharge of environmental planning consents to de-risk the project.
Work collaboratively with the Consenting Manager, other EIA Co-ordinators and the EIA Discipline Leads to ensure a consistent approach to the Environmental Statements and to look for economies of scale, efficiencies and lessons learnt, to reduce costs and achieve the programme.
Proactive participation in the stakeholder engagement strategy with third parties to minimise objections to gain planning approval in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Close liaison with the design and delivery teams in SPA to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the SPA programme of work.
