Description : Head of Governance and AssurancePermanentFull Time – 35 hours per weekSalary – £55,000 – £65,000 DOE + benefits package (including pension and 22 days paid holiday per annum plus 3 days for company shutdown over Christmas and New Year)Home Based – flexible working options are availableIf you have a genuine interest in helping us to change the world through science, technology, engineering, mathematics and/ or data – we would love to hear from you!About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Governance and Assurance to support our Executive Leadership team (ELT) with maintaining good governance throughout the Enginuity Group. This is an opportunity to really make a difference and you’ll support in the identification and mitigation of risk, with a particular focus on compliance with legislation in each of the Group’s four operating countries (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).What you’ll be doingAs a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will work collaboratively to provide support and advice to our ELT, the Boards of Enginuity and EAL (the Awarding Organisation arm of the Group), and your Senior Management colleagues on how to comply with legislation, regulation and how to strengthen governance. You’ll coordinate legal advice on constitutional and governance matters, develop and maintain a group wide risk register and ensure our framework of policies and practices allows compliance with regulation, using targeted internal audits to support this work.You’ll take the lead on Group specific policies, and you’ll ensure we are compliant with relevant Data Protection legislation.Leading a small team, and as a member of our Senior Leadership team, you’ll also be responsible for driving a strategic vision for Governance and Assurance, building strong collaborative relationships across the Group and contributing to making us a great place to work.What we’re looking forYou’ll have demonstratable experience of delivering effective governance in both the charitable and commercial sectors and will have led and delivered change in previous roles. With knowledge and experience of Data Protection legislation and good practice, you’ll ideally have previous experience of risk management systems and frameworks based on good practice and you’ll have used internal audit and other assessments to improve control environments.You’ll be an excellent communicator, with strong project management and organisation skills with experience of leading and managing teams.Other skills which would be desirable however not needed to apply for the roleIf you have experience of working with/for Awarding Organisations and End Point Assessment Organisations this would be an advantage.Working for the Enginuity GroupWe offer a supportive work environment and a comprehensive benefits package.
