Our client is a main contractor within the Interior fit out sector who have, over 20 years, built up an excellent reputation and client base. Due to exciting growth plans, they are looking to bring in a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager who will be field/home based with 1 day per week or 2 days per fortnight based in their offices in the Southwest.
They work across several sectors, producing high quality outcomes for Retail, Commercial & Finance, Public & Government, and Leisure & Hospitality. Their teams work throughout the UK to provide refurbishments and fit outs in offices, shops, attractions, and restaurants.
You will help drive the business forward with an innovative and ambitious way of thinking in relation to HSE, you strive to deliver an excellent range of services, products and systems within HSE.
You will:
Work with other senior business managers, to maximise business performance by producing and implementing HSE solutions that meet legal and business needs.
Prepare and develop strategies & deliver to senior management to create positive engagement.
Develop and update internal policies and procedures in line with current legislation.
Build excellent relationships with key stakeholders (and senior management) to help grow and steer the HSE initiative internally.
Build relationships with external clients and H&S Managers, keeping them up to date with projects, proposals and procedures.
Share regular performance data to internal teams and offer support through presentation.
Assess the core risks throughout the business and put into place the correct control measures to either eliminate or reduce the risk as applicable.
Take account of and outline operational procedures.
Travel between sites through the UK to drive and implement H&S excellence.
Ensure to build excellent report with site personnel, conduct regular site inspections, correct and coach where needed.
Ensure to keep a record of all inspections and develop & lead improvement plans.
Ensure the business is up to date with industry rules and regulations.
Ensure any new changes are put into procedures and pushed out across the business.
Demonstrate quality leadership by setting high standards, get other employees on board and create a positive work force with regards to HSE.
Ensure a contribution and adherence to delivering the quality and information security policies and systems across the business.
You will need:
NEBOSH, IOSH
CSCS Card Holder, UKATA Asbestos Qualification
Valid UK Driving Licence
Health & Safety Manager experience
Experience of leading, developing, supporting a team to create positive relationships.
Sound knowledge and use of Microsoft Office 365.
Analytical and goal oriented.
Proven ability to work under pressure
