Description : Head of Housekeeping Job DescriptionOur Head of Housekeeping is required to have skills in supervising staff and also managing a busy guest changeover schedule where cleanliness and friendliness are the driving forces behind giving our guests a comfortable room during their stay with us. You will be able to relate and manage procedures at the front end delivery into coordinated back of house processes to ensure a smoother guest experience. The main responsibilities of the role are as follows: · Coordinate daily, with all Housekeeping Staff to ensure delivery of a service that will help to enhance the guest stay· Ensure the reporting process for maintenance issues with rooms is known by all Housekeeping Staff, reducing the risk of missing room problems developing into customer complaints· Respond efficiently and accurately to any arising guest issues relating to the housekeeping department· Organise and maintain stock levels of essential products such as is required for delivery of the housekeeping service· Have a keen eye for improving efficiency and reduction of waste· Mentor new housekeeping staff with the correct operational procedures for the continued high quality service· The Head Housekeeper should ensure that the following tasks are carried out either by themselves or others in their charge as required but normally on a daily basis :1. Tidy Guest bedrooms, make Beds and clean bathroom areas.2. Clean window interiors including sills and surrounds3. Hoover and/or mop floors in all rooms. Hoover carpets including hallways and corridors and stairways outside the allocated room section.4. Change towels if required or if they have been left in the bath or shower but always on a change of guest stay5. Ensure the rooms internal bins are emptied and rubbish is cleared away daily.6. Report maintenance problems in rooms to reception at the end of your shift via the internal reporting system on your site· Check quality control of other housekeepers and act accordingly to remedy any failures· Ensure Company Policies are followed for Health and Safety at all times· Ensure all reasonable tasks related to your role are completed as asked by the Hotel Management· To wear the appropriate uniform provided, along with flat, non-slip shoes. Strictly no trainers.· Be accurate and courteous at all times.· Attend Training and Refresher Training sessions, as required by the hotel management in particular Norovirus and Bed Bugs and Manual Handling· Be aware of company Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help to maintain a safe working environment.· Ensure awareness of COSHH Data sheets for yourself and other members of your team, and always ensure information available for chemicals on site when there are new chemicals introduced to the workplace· You and other housekeepers should wear the Personal Protective Equipment that is provided for your safety· If you become concerned about any aspect of your employment that may effect yours or other people’s performance, you have a duty to report your concerns to the higher hotel management.· Take note of the absence reporting procedure in your workplace and adhere to the policy, this greatly assists the Hotel Management and also your colleagueHead of Housekeeping Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate for this role will possess some or all of the below qualities, training will be provided but it will assist us if you have a basic understanding of the role.Essential Attributes· Able to demonstrate that you have the relevant experience in the role.· Able to motivate others to promote guest experience· Ability to multi-task and not lose performance level under pressure· Being Friendly and approachableDesired Attributes· Any formal training that assists you with this busy role such as Welcome Host Customer care trainingJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From £9.50 per hourAdditional pay:TipsBenefits:Company pensionDiscounted or free foodEmployee discountFlexible scheduleOn-site parkingSchedule:Day shiftExperience:housekeeping: 1 year (preferred)
