Our Springvale facility based in Belfast is growing and currently seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Business Partner to join our busy, professional HR team.
Taking a business partner approach, you will advise, guide and coach managers across the business, supporting and enabling them to effectively manage and resolve the full range of employment and employee relations issues.
You will have a good working knowledge of employment law, and will be experienced in supporting managers, challenging, and influencing decision making as appropriate.

Job Purpose:
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will provide a comprehensive range of HR support to leaders and employees across the Springvale facility. This support includes HR advice and coaching on areas such as policy and processes, strategic workforce planning, complex employee relations, performance management and career planning, driving engagement, diversity and inclusion, implementing HR transformation activities, providing professional communications and promoting positive employee relations with key stakeholders, including the trade union.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Policy & Processes
The HR BP will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of all HR processes, systems and documentation in accordance with legislation, best practice and organisational requirements as well as coach leaders and employees on their interpretation and application. You will also support the development and review of HR policies, documentation, guidance, toolkits and handbooks.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
This role will have a high focus on employee relations. You will develop and maintain good relationships with all employees, leaders and Trade Union representatives to encourage and always promote good employee relations, assisting where appropriate with issues/problems raised. In this role you will provide advice, support and coaching to leaders dealing with employee relations matters, encouraging informal resolution where possible, whilst supporting a culture of accountability.
Business Transformation
The HR Business Partner will lead, participate and support ongoing process improvement strategies within HR and associated people management issues to drive continuous process improvement. Working within the HR Team you will strive to provide people solutions to business problems which may also involve coaching leaders through change and identifying opportunities to fully maximise people resources.
Service Delivery & Information
The HR team are key business partners to the business, supporting our leaders and employees in all HR and people matters. You will ensure a professional and value-added HR service is provided at all times. You will keep up to date with changes in legislation and best practice as well as external developments in the field of Human Resources to deliver a value added, informed and professional service to the business.

A spirit of co-operation, with the aim of meeting the department aims and objectives
Essential Criteria:
Good knowledge and understanding of NI/UK employment law and HR best practice.
Ability to advise on employment policies and procedures.
Experience of working effectively with unions.
Degree in Business or HR Management or equivalent experience
Experience of advising staff on the employee relations
Good understanding of developing and managing change projects and programmes.
Experience of delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines.
Proven ability to analyse complex information and recommended solutions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
Skilled analytical thinker with ability to critically assess requirements and select ‘best fit’ approach to meeting Caterpillars HR needs.
Demonstrable capacity to manage effectively – people and resources, and / or project teams, to achieve complex or high priority objectives, and develop others personally and professionally.
Proven ability to systematically analyse information and cut through complexity to bring clear, relevant and intelligible recommendations.
Excellent IT skills with a good working knowledge of Windows (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people at all levels
Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Criteria:
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
CIPD level 5 qualified or working towards
Working knowledge of HR databases
Working knowledge of Workday HR system
