Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Business Intelligence Project Manager is responsible for managing the successful delivery of the Power BI Business Intelligence projects and ensuring the PowerBI Business Intelligence systems and solutions are stable, reliable and well supported. This role will ensure:
The management of the Business Intelligence area such that projects, continuous development and support are delivered on time, to budget, and with the anticipated level of business benefit
A high level of structure in the project teams with appropriate governance and adherence to formal frameworks (in a way that is aligned to teams agile way of working)
The project’s financial performance, risks and issues are closely monitored and clearly communicated to IT and business leaders
The Business Intelligence Project Manager will be the single point of contact for the business and IT management team within the Business Intelligence portfolio ensuring that the aims and progress are understood, standards are followed and quality is consistently high.
This IT Project Manager – Business Intelligence role is a full time, permanent role based at least 3 days per week in Bicester Village. Travel to London and Europe will also be required.
Key responsibilities:
Project Definition
Project, resource and budget definition, including (as required):
Facilitate the development of a strategic plan to deliver IT & Business change
Manage business demand, prioritisation and expectation
Convert prioritised business demand into well defined projects and deliverables
Be the technology partner for business in the PowerBI Business Intelligence portfolio
Project Management
Full project lifecycle management all workstreams, including:
Work with Product Owners to build and sign off Product Backlog / Project Definition
Vendor selection, contract negotiation and ongoing management (as required)
Ensure solution design approval, and resulting product is secure, stable and well supported,
Manage the delivery of the features in the Product Backlog using a combination of inhouse and nearshore agile development teams
Handover of newly implemented change to appropriate Business / Technical support
Manage status reporting of projects to Project and Steering Boards,
Controls (managed through standard governance process):
Milestone plan for workstreams and projects,
Success Criteria / Benefits Case,
Budget Management,
Risks, Issues, Actions & Decisions
Quality Assurance / Standards
Full system and user testing, signed off prior to implementation
Complete quality assurance reviews to monitor the quality of project deliverables and reporting
Maintain project methodologies, to ensure a consistent use of processes and practices
Coach and mentor team to ensure adoption and consistency
Lead internal Centre of Excellence team to deliver business support and small enhancements
Participate in annual business & budget planning process to build a roadmap for the PowerBI Business Intelligence portfolio

Extremely strong project management and change management background with a demonstrable track record of operating effectively in a dynamic, fast paced, challenging and delivery focused Project / Programme environments containing blended teams (e.g. permanent, contract, vendor, SI, Business/IT/operational teams, offshore).
Essential competency / experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, at least 2 of which are leading complex business change programmes
Able to demonstrate experience of project delivery
Formal project management qualifications
A thorough understanding of all different aspects of project management, and can explain and direct others to deliver these
Exposure to data warehouse projects or similar data projects
Relevant experience managing PowerBI / Business Intelligence projects
Experience of reporting into steering group level
Excellent interpersonal communications skills
Extremely well organised and detail oriented
Confident, driven and have a strong determination to succeed
Desirable competency / experience:
Certified in Agile / Scrum techniques
Experience in full spectrum of Software Development Lifecycle
A good understanding of cyber security and system support
Exposure to data standards, concepts, and data governance best practice
Understanding of Salesforce, Oracle Financials, SAP SuccessFactors, MRI Software, Planon, and Microsoft BI stack
