Description : The Junior Embryologist will work diligently to develop embryology skills and competence. This position includes ‘hands-on’ involvement in clinical IVF laboratory work as directed. This role will be expected to maintain CLIA and CAP standards regarding quality control/ quality management, procedural guidelines and day- to-day duties of the IVF laboratory.Job responsibilities: Undertake embryology laboratory procedures as directed.Attention to detail with an awareness and understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) treatmentComply with HIPAA privacy regulationsDevelop competency in the latest technologies including, but not limited to: trophetoderm biopsy, oocyte vitrification, and complex micromanipulation skillsMust be comfortable with the physical handling of oocytes, embryos and semen including hazardous specimensLearn to assess and grade oocyte, embryo and sperm morphologyPerform clerical tasks diligently and follow established protocols and laboratory guidelinesData entry into computer databases and software programsManagement of aseptic techniquesAbility to maintain detailed and accurate patient logs and laboratory reportsCommunicate detailed information to patients, staff and regulatory bodiesPerforms all procedures required for IVF cycles, including medium and dish preparation, egg retrieval, sperm preparation, fertilization check, embryo evaluation, cryopreservation and thawing, transfer, ICSI and assisted hatching.Performs laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and participates in quality improvement (QI) programs, record keeping and collection of data.Perform daily embryology (set-up’s / egg retrievals / ICSI-IVF / fertilization –embryo development checks / embryo transfers / cryopreservation / testicular Bx preps-Cryo / embryo Bx for PGD) and reporting.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a biological science1 year of experience in a human IVF labJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:IVF Lab: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
