Description : EQUANS are recruiting for a Legal Council to be based in either Bevis Marks London or Leeds. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a legal counsel within its Energy and Technical Services (“ETS”) division. ETS is one of the UK divisions of EQUANS which provides: (a) facilities management and technical services to a broad range of public and private sector clients; and (b) sustainable energy, energy management and digitally focused solutions to businesses across the UK including electric vehicle charging, embedded generation, district heating and cooling, client renewables and smart buildings.
You will be required to provide timely, high quality, practical and commercially focussed legal advice balancing legal risk with the commercial needs of the business
What will you deliver?
Responsibility for providing commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of projects ensuring compliance with applicable law.
Review, negotiate and/or draft agreements and conduct contract negotiations with project counterparties including development, construction, O&M, financing, offtake, joint venture and facilities management services agreements for customer and Engie owned assets .
Involvement in developing and delivering training on various issues for colleagues across the Engie’ business.
Supporting with commercial and contractual matters with respect to tenders, projects, variations and on-going contractual and operational matters for the areas within ETS.
Assisting in the governance of transactions at local and Engie’ Group level.

Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
UK (or common law equivalent) qualified solicitor or barrister with ideally 4 to 6 years of post-qualification experience. We will be flexible depending on the quality of experience.
Understanding of the contractual framework surrounding energy projects including renewables, urban energy heating and cooling and electric vehicle charging within the UK energy market.
Experience of facilities management outsourcing arrangements including public sector procurement framework arrangements
Strong drafting, negotiating and analytical skills. Ability to draft and negotiate a variety of documentation including development, construction, O&M, financing, offtake, joint venture and facilities management services agreements.
