We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Marketing and Insights Lead, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

HSBC Marco Polo is a new strategic digital business within HSBC Group, with the ambition to become a leading player in the global payments and FX market, supporting foreign currency and payment needs of internationally minded customers around the world.
We’re building a standalone global wallet and payments app, with a narrow proposition, but the breadth to reach 10 million customers across 32+ markets, accelerating our international ambition and extending HSBC’s global reach.

The role of the Marketing and Insights Lead will be to lead the process of designing, developing and driving successful implementation of Marco Polo’s marketing and branding strategy, across all prioritised markets. The role holder will facilitate engagements with leadership across Marco Polo, wider WPB as well as local markets where appropriate, to help design tailored and target-customer persona appropriate marketing solutions, with a globally consistent brand and marketing approach, that is specific to each market where required. The role holder will also assist in gaining endorsement from relevant stakeholders in Marco Polo and WPB to proceed with successful implementation.
Marco Polo’s ambition to acquire 10+ million customers across multiple markets means the marketing strategy will need to be bold and innovative, whilst adhering to any relevant cross-border marketing and/or customer solicitation regulations and restrictions. The role holder’s will be accountable for championing the customer and building a customer-centric marketing strategy across all proposition markets, with a culturally sensitive approach to meeting local customer and stakeholder needs.
In this role, you will:
Be responsible for driving the overall Marco Polo marketing and branding strategy as well as the market specific marketing plans across multiple prioritised Marco Polo launch markets.
Be accountable for liaison with Marco Polo leadership and any relevant local market teams on allocation and agreement of the scope and marketing spend market-by-market.
Identify and work with key stakeholders to gain buy-in and ensure that marketing strategies and solutions will be effectively delivered and measured by all areas of Marco Polo and of the wider business.
Develop and articulate a deep understanding of Marco Polo customer personas and their individual needs through external research, external agency analysis and internal data.
Have ownership of clearly developed business briefs and marketing briefs for Marco Polo, including any adjustments required for local markets.
Work with WPB Customer and Marketing teams and collaborate to gain endorsement to deliver Marco Polo marketing strategy.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
Require a modern marketing professional with understanding of latest developments in the marketing and media world.
Have depth of both classical and contemporary channels and a range of Marketing Strategy and Communications planning experience, including demonstrable success in developing and delivering strategic marketing plans and multi-channel high profile marketing communications programmes.
Understand the use of data and analytics in deriving customer value.
Be passionate about the customer and be obsessed with customer outcomes.
Degree level qualification in marketing and/or business studies preferred.
Broad based business experience within a Financial Service based institution, or an innovative customer/service based institution.
