As a member of the Medical Affairs team, you provide the medical knowledge and support throughout the product life cycle of Digital Surgery’s product streams. This position is external-facing and involves multidisciplinary work with every department in the organisation to support activities related to content creation, surgical process, medical communications, clinical research and commercial support.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who wants to help us make a difference by improving the standard of surgical care around the world.
Here’s what you’ll be doing (not all of it, just the important stuff!):
Serve as Digital Surgery’s subject matter expert within either Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology and/or General Surgery speciality;
Establish and maintain professional relationships with healthcare practitioners (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare decision-makers to provide medical support and feedback for Digital Surgery’s products;
Document surgical processes and workflows through communication with subject matter experts, surgical theatre visits, literature and video review;
Collaborate with Medtronic Digital Surgery’s Visual FX department to deliver education and training material for the Touch Surgery™ app;
Collaborate with surgical data annotators and machine learning scientists to support our AI products;
Collaborate with the commercial and marketing teams to support our customers;
Work independently, managing different projects and deadlines with support from senior members of the team;
Occasional international and national travel is expected to attend conferences and events;
Basic Qualifications:
Health science related degree with at least 2 years of clinical or research experience;
Core knowledge of Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology and/or General surgery is required;
Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in robotic-assisted surgery;
Essential Skills:
Demonstrated ability to build strong/collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals; Previous experience in managing HCP and KOL relationships strongly preferred;
Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines;
Passionate about surgical training and education;
Effective communicator, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills;
Able to comprehend complex surgical and scientific information and communicate it in a clear and concise manner;
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performing, and dynamic environment;
Additional Skills:
