Description : The impact of a global pandemic requires a rapid and far-reaching transformation in TUI’s business model. Innovation in mobile was already changing the way we do business and transforming the way our customers interact with TUI. Following COVID-19, our customers now look to TUI’s Mobile App to provide critical self-service capabilities throughout their journey with TUI. We also have ambitious growth plans to deliver over £3-£4 billion sales annually to reach 20% of TUI’s revenue through the Mobile App.
A key factor in this digital transformation will be engaging TUI customers with highly relevant, rich, personalised content, to make it easy to find and manage their dream holiday within TUI’s mobile apps in markets across Europe. Toward this we are now seeking a digital merchandiser to create a dynamic, personalised, omni-channel App experience. This role will require a blend of commercial acumen, customer focus and awareness of design impact.

Improve Sales engagement towards target of 20% of Group Total
Create and maintain in-app merchandising content that is highly relevant, personalised, and dynamic, to generate interest targeted towards commercial priorities. Employ optimal blend of commercial priority with creative and customer focus.
Co-ordinate best practice in markets across Europe
Work with local Merchandising, content and design teams to ensure that key trading messages are always supported and appropriately promoted across the apps. Maximise performance through AB testing, data-based insight and a creative approach and share learnings with wider team.
Drive enhancement of app merchandising capabaility & design
Understand TUI’s customer segments and use customer insight to continually enhance and expand app merchandising features & UX, working with App Product owners. Contribute to and execute a clear strategy for TUI’s goal of industry leading, personalized, and omni-channel App experience, leveraging behavioural insight and data science.
Track and drive KPI growth
Understand and drive KPI performance, writing and sharing timely reporting and actionable insight to markets and C-level Stakeholders. Assess the key drivers of app growth, identify trends and recommend actionable change to manage performance against target.
Develop and apply business knowledge and share digital trends
Develop a good understanding of the travel industry, TUI’s business and dynamics in each source market, our competitors and new entrants considering business models and digital approaches. Keep up-to-date with digital trends and developments. Use this knowledge to support continuous improvement and bring new and exciting ideas to the team.
Strong commercial acumen, target driven with a passion for implementing data driven ideas to maximise growth. Able to digest and analyse performance and link this with the business strategy.
Great communications skills, able to translate data into easy-to-understand insight, and clearly communicate performance to stakeholders at all levels of seniority through various means.
Stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to develop trusted working relationships.
Ideally experience in creating merchandising content in a way that provides an engaging experience that drives sales growth, balancing commercial priority with a creative, customer focused eye.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, comfortable to manipulate spreadsheets with formulae and build presentations that condense data into easy-to-understand insights and recommendations.
Inclusive collaborative working style, able to work independently but also successfully with colleagues and partners from around the business with a range of roles, skills and seniorities.
Good understanding of relevant digital technologies, with the ability to harness their potential to enhance the customer journey and drive business value
Comfortable working in a multi-geography, multi-cultural environment.
Educated to a degree level or equivalent work experience
