About us
The Insurance & Conduct Specialists (I&CS) sub-division is responsible for the supervision of around 6,000 regulated insurance firms, ranging from high street intermediaries to large multi-national insurers.
Without the General Insurance sector, public transport would not run, engineering projects would not be undertaken, we would not be able to go to work, drive cars, buy houses or go on holiday.
We also supervise the six largest Life Insurance groups as well as a large number of smaller providers and outsourcers, and we are currently working on shaping the new rules for Funeral Plan providers.
Our supervision of the insurance sector is therefore crucially important to society and the supervision teams play an integral role in identifying early indicators of consumer and market harm.
