We have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the team within Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) at RAF Northolt, Ruislip. This post is for 21.5 hours per week.
This is an excellent chance to create good working links with a close-knit patient community and also international colleagues.
The purpose of this role is to support DPHC in delivery of a safe and effective primary healthcare service the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) in order to enhance and sustain operational effectiveness. The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is responsible to the Band 6 Practice Nurse for the provision of clinical and administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Under their guidance the HCA will provide nursing care to the Population at Risk (PAR), within the scope of the individual’s abilities.
We at DPHC work to contribute a safe, effective and efficient healthcare service. This is achieved through the delivery of an occupationally-aware primary healthcare service which includes dental and rehabilitation services.
The main duties will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with the provision of nursing consultations, treatments and medications in conjunction with the Medical Officers; and independently, in accordance with agreed protocols.
Ensuring compliance with the correct infection control measures for the treatment room and nurse consultation rooms and concerns regarding infection control are brought to the attention of the Infection Control Link Nurse.
Ensuring cleanliness, adequate stock levels and maintenance of equipment within the treatment room and nurse consultation rooms.
Ensuring daily checks of the clinical equipment held in the treatment room and nurse consultation rooms are completed and recorded.
Contributing towards the maintenance of a safe environment, health safety and security.
To undertake any additional tasks requested by the Senior Medical officer, Practice Manager and their deputies

Qualifications and Memberships

NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care
Experience in Primary Health Care/Out Patient Department/Occupational Health setting License
