Description : The parts department is an integral department of the Company. Its main purpose is supplying parts to both internal customers (Vehicle and Machinery Workshops) and to external retail and trade customers over the counter.
As Parts Advisor your job is to assist the Parts Manager with the day-to-day running of the department to maximise the Company’s return on investment while at all times maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
This is a busy and demanding role within the company.
Key responsibilities:
Deal with all customer and workshop parts enquires in an efficient and timely manner communicating face to face and via telephone/email/text message etc.
Using details and information provided by the customer coupled with sound knowledge and experience identify and source the correct required parts. Offer genuine and aftermarket alternatives where appropriate.
Order parts from existing suppliers or source from new suppliers if required. Ensure all parts ordered arrive and are in a useable/saleable condition. Report any short shipments or damage immediately and ensure parts are returned/replaced/credited. Complete all relevant paperwork in relation to the purchase/sale of parts.
Complete parts warranty claims as required and ensure suppliers replace or credit goods.
Uphold all brand standards and complete all manufacturer training as stipulated by our franchises.
Book out parts to the correct customer or workshop in a timely manner ensuring item, pricing, discounting, quantity etc are all correct and where appropriate payment is taken. Special care to be taken with non-stock/non-returnable items, making sure the customer is aware of this and taking deposits where necessary.
Arrange delivery of parts using the company’s delivery driver and by post/courier as required.
Maintain a clean, tidy, organised and well displayed/presented work and retail environment adhering to all company Health and Safety and Fire Risk guidelines and policies.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years proven experience as a parts advisor in the Automotive or Farm/Garden Machinery Industry
Excellent communication skills
High level of organisational skills
Ability to work independently and use own initiative
Attention to detail
Exceptional customer service and communication skills
Experience of working with IBCOS GOLD system would be beneficial but not essential.
Package Details:
Working Hours are 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm Friday, alternate Saturdays 8am to 1.30pm.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 per year, dependent on experience
