The Role
Park View Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Practice Manager to help lead our team. The role involves working with the Clinical Directors to ensure a smooth running of the practice. Day to day tasks include the banking, debt management, time sheets/payroll, sending out bills, and overseeing the maintenance of the practice building and the equipment. Additionally, it will involve managing employee and client relations, dealing with complaints, HR support, and liaising with Head Office and the Business Support Manager.
The rota is usually Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, however occasional Saturday cover may be necessary in case of reception absence.
The salary is up to £40,000 dependent on experience.
About Us
The main hospital building was purpose-built in 2004 and has just undergone a programme of interior redecoration and modernisation. The clinical areas are all on the ground floor with office space and staff areas upstairs. We have a lovely clientele with a high proportion of insured clients who seek excellent customer care. Thus, we aim to offer a gold standard level of treatment to our patients putting their welfare at the forefront of all our clinical decisions.
We currently have 4 consulting rooms, a large waiting room, 4 hospital wards, 3 theatres, 2 diagnostic rooms, a dispensary, and a laboratory. Vets Now are based on site to cover the out-of-hours emergencies for Lincoln area and they also look after our inpatients.
Our branch at Witham St Hughs is also a modern purpose-built clinic with 2 consulting rooms, a theatre and a prep area.
We currently have 7 full-time and 2 part-time Veterinary Surgeons. Three of the Vets are certificate holders (one in orthopaedics, one in surgery, and one in medicine) and we actively encourage learning and development. Our Head Nurse holds a Diploma, and we are a training practice with 7 full-time and 4 part-time Registered Veterinary Nurses and 3 Student Veterinary Nurses. In addition, we also have a large support team of Receptionists and Animal Care Assistants. Our team is very important to us and we hold regular team meetings, cake Fridays etc. and we are open to feedback to ensure we are constantly improving things for the staff, our clients and their pets.
Lincoln is a University City with a historic uphill area with a Castle and a Cathedral that has been used in various films/TV productions. There is a direct train line to London and good connections to other cities in the Midlands and it is also within easy reach of the east coast.
Applicant Requirements
Our preferred candidate will have some experience in the Veterinary industry as well as previous business/practice management experience. Relevant qualifications in these areas will be an advantage along with excellent IT, communication, and interpersonal skills. HR/line management experience would be desirable.
