In order to understand more about the challenges that you might face at Rebel, it’s important that we go back to the inception and get acquainted with our journey to date. From the times when we were an offline business having high street stores having one brand, to our evolution as a company that uses smart kitchens – we have traversed the phone, web, and app channels over time. From being a single brand restaurant, we moved to be a parent company with a dozen restaurant brands under the umbrella, while simultaneously moving our operations from a single kitchen to more than 350+ locations across 45 cities. All of this was achieved through products built to power innovation and through the continuous delivery of unique and delightful experiences to our customers. To give you an additional perspective, the team has built more than40+ products in the last 5 years. It spans numerous brand apps and websites, driver apps, CRM tools, kitchen operation systems, dashboards, and reporting systems, loyalty programs, invite & earn programs, integration with multiple 3rd party systems, analytical systems, Recommendation Engines, IoT platforms, Learning Platforms, Inventory platforms, Marketplace Systems and others. Future of Product @ Rebel We are now on to the task of building our next generation of products to disrupt the food space. This will start with revamping our consumer-facing products and streamlining internal systems and processes through breakthrough innovations to deliver unique Memorable, delightful and safe experiences to customers’ every time. The team is currently building the Brain (AI, Machine Learning, analytics to drive every business decision of the company), the Body (robotics/IOT led automation at our/customers Kitchens, driving tremendous operational efficiency), and the mind (an omnipresent one-stop food app, building an AI/ML-driven virtual personal butler for customers across the app, web, and voice, like Netflix of food and others, and bringing intelligence in customer’s kitchen). This means the product team has to work with each and every function of the company to build solutions that would be a “first in the world”. We are essentially building a set of tightly integrated never before seen products across the entire stack, and we need to ensure each of these channels grows and achieves the maximum possible revenue.
To get closer to our ambitious vision, we want to build the products in a more focused and dedicated manner than what is being achieved currently. You should be customer-obsessed, smart and analytical, strategic yet execution-focused, passionate about solving problems through technology and must have shown some entrepreneurial leadership in the past. You will not only be responsible for building products but also be responsible for these products to deliver results. You will work closely with the Business, Engineering, and Data teams and will report to the CPO of the company –who is also a founding member at Rebel.
What You’ll be doing:
You will be an integral part of the Product team and will lead research, analysis & generation of actionable insights to define the global product strategy & roadmap for building best-in-class user experience
Specific day to day responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
1. Identify, track & report product KPIs:
Identify Product KPIs for defined feature/experience on the platform
Integrate tracking of the KPI & associated metrics into the development module
Track each KPI obsessively on a daily basis
Crisp and impactful report on KPIs highlighting progress and pro-actively identify issues/improvement areas
2. Hypothesis generation & validation:
Generate hypothesis associated to feature/experience
Identify experiments, research studies and/or A/B experiments to validate/reject hypothesis
Share insights from hypothesis validation exercises with cross-functional teams
Lead decision-making for validation/rejection of hypothesis
3. Drive actionable insights:
Be on top of all user feedback coming through multiple channels on a regular basis
Participate in user research to develop an understanding of user behavior, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
Assess every step of all product features & identify opportunities to build great consumer journeys.
What You are required to bring to the team:
Previous experience of 2 years+ working in a product company in a product analytics role
Expertise in Business analytics tools & statistical programming languages – SQL, NoSQL tools (R, SAS, SPSS, Tableau, Google Analytics preferred not mandatory)
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills – ability to develop hypothesis, understand and interpret data within the context of the product/business – solve problems and distill data into actionable recommendations.
Intellectual and analytical curiosity – initiative to dig into the why what & how.
Strong number crunching and quantitative skills.
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
Inherent interest in e-commerce & marketplace technology platforms and broadly in the consumer Internet & mobile space.
Having worked on end to end delivery of web / platform products desirable.
Great organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Technical architecture understanding of web-scaled business is a big plus.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
Data Driven and good understanding of various analytical tools and metrics around web and mobile products such as conversions, funnels etc.
Good conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills is mandatory
